"We booked afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday; I phoned to book and explain that I have allergies (gluten and milk) would it be possible to arrange something for me too.. the gentleman I spoke to could not have been more helpful and left me confident that I could eat safely. We arrived on Saturday to a warm welcome and were very well looked after. Fabulous service as the tea flowed. The food was fantastic and I had an afternoon tea that was friendly and looked as good as my friends. We had a lovely time and were grateful for a box to take the leftovers home as were to full to finish."

"We walked there for Sunday lunch, arrived an hour early so we could have a drink first. There wasn’t anywhere to sit for just a drink so we sat at our table. We kept getting asked if we wanted to order, no thanks we’d like to finish our drinks please. The drinks were £4.20 each but we were asked for £9.40 so we had to point out the price. We eventually ordered our meals. The food was okay but nothing special. The roast potatoes were new potatoes done in the oven, the yorkshire puddings were from a packet, the veg was nice but not very hot. My wife had the vegetarian option with half a carrot and 2 slithers of cremated parsnip. Her meal was £15.95 and was a third of the size of my meat version, no Yorkshire pudding and no stuffing. Very disappointing."

"I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The staff were lovely, and I was impressed by the large portion sizes. The lamb dish was cooked perfectly, and the scampi was beautifully presented. I will absolutely be returning in the future."

"The food at the restaurant was good and reasonably priced for the area. The service was decent, with a friendly server, but there was a mix-up with the order - I ordered a beef danshak but received a lamb danshak instead. This was not a problem for me as I enjoy lamb. However, my mother-in-law ordered a medium curry and found it to be too spicy. Some extras were added to the bill, but when questioned, it was explained that it was a mistake due to touch screen issues. Despite some minor issues, the response was good and the staff were trying their best. The restaurant is small and located near the toilets, with the door constantly being left open by customers. However, overall I would still consider coming back and would recommend it to others."

"My daughter and I visited this pub a few months ago. We had heard that the food could be a bit of a hit-and-miss affair. However on this occasion we had a lovely meal. We met the proprietor who seemed a very pleasant chap. Last Sunday we went for lunch 7 of us. Well. Unfortunately, on this particular day it was definitely a miss. The Turkey was very good, but unfortunately a couple ordered roast beef which was tough and hard to eat. 1 person did not eat her meal at all. Roast potatoes were hard and the roast parsnips done to a crisp. A very tiny sausage in a small piece of bacon and a tiny round ball of stuffing was what constituted the trimmings. My son in law ordered a latte, which was weak watery and undrinkable. My daughter and I ordered Irish coffee which was weak, watery, very sweet and the cream on top had been sprayed out of an aerosol can, it was horrible. When paying the bill I met the proprietor for the first time since the initial occasion when all had been so good. I mentioned how disappointed we were with the meal and what the problems were and I was met with complete indifference, no apology and certainly no refund. Hard to believe that this was the same person! Sometimes it's not what goes wrong it's how things are dealt with when they do go wrong. The waiting staff were lovely and helpful but on the basis of hit and miss, I need to go to a pub where the proprietor actually cares about his customers and is there to put things right if things go wrong? Shall never go back and I live locally."
