I attended a wake party and was very impressed with both the food and the service.

Although quite pricey, the quality of the food reflected that it was well worth it. The service was very good. My friends, who we met up with, brought along their very nervous Collie dog. She was made very welcome. This is a dog friendly place. Definitely worth a return visit. Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Excellent food all round both our mains and desserts consistently great, friendly service and great ambiance, in a nice, rural location. Highly recommended! Love the braised lamb shoulder and the mini dessert with coffee is good if you don't have room for one of their full sized desserts. The staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The food is fantastic, featuring a wonderful variety on the menu. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, enhanced by a lovely log fire that creates an inviting setting. I should also mention that it's dog-friendly, complete with a special menu for your furry companions. This restaurant offers a fully gluten-free menu, and out of six fryers, only one is dedicated to gluten-containing foods! I felt safe dining here, as they showed a strong awareness of cross-contamination. They even noted that the lemonade on tap wasn't safe, which I already knew, but it was reassuring that they mentioned it. We found the prices a bit high, but the food was fresh and safe to eat. They even mentioned that the soft drinks from the fountain (like lemonade) weren't guaranteed gluten-free, which I appreciated, though I already knew that. The prices were on the higher side, but the food was fresh and safe to eat.

"The dining experience here is enjoyable, and the bar staff are quite friendly. However, during my last visit to the Red Lion, I noticed it could use a bit of attention. While it wasn't exactly dirty, it did seem like it needed a thorough cleaning—nothing that a good handyman couldn't take care of. That said, the pub itself has a charming atmosphere, and the food (especially on Sunday afternoons) is excellent. If they could improve the covered seating area, which feels a bit neglected, there would be nothing to complain about!"

I was taken aback by her unbelievable tone and attitude. My friend had traveled from Canada and was on her way to Heathrow for a flight home, and I didn’t want to create a scene. Ideally, I would have told that rude staff member exactly what I thought of her behavior. There's a fine line between being efficient and crossing over into rudeness, and she definitely crossed it. While I know that restaurants often defend themselves with claims that other guests love them, I can honestly say that in this instance, I did not enjoy my experience.
