"The first time we visited a few years ago, we thought it was just as good as Rick Stein's restaurant. Our most recent visit last night did not disappoint; it was absolutely stunning. We started with fresh crab and scallops, which were delicious and perfectly portioned. For the main course, we had hake and halibut—the halibut must have been a substantial fish because my piece was a generous fillet. It was served with local potatoes, which are fantastic on their own. Everything was cooked to perfection, and we've already booked another visit for next week. They really know how to showcase their fish here!"

"Whilst this may sound weird to some, I believe that some establishments can get away with having marginally disappointing beer, food, or service is the aesthetic is right and have that certain je ne sais quoi. We found The Sloop by doing a google search for dog friendly pubs within the vicinity when visiting Pembrokeshire a few weeks ago. As we drove down into the hamlet it became very obvious that this was a popular choice as whilst there was quite a lot of parking it was going to be a challenge to find a free space. I don't know whether we had the option to sit inside as we tend to not when we have the pups with us and anyway what's a little drizzle on holiday? (let the records show that drizzle became redefined in July of 2023).. I cannot think of anything that I did not like about The Sloop, including location and setting, atmosphere at the bar, the welcome from staff, food and drinks. There were some local Ale options which of course I was compelled to try as part of my mantra to aid local business and all of which were well kept. We will definitely seek out the place more deliberately when next in the area."

"We live nearby and decided to take a walk with our two dogs, planning to have lunch at the pub based on good feedback in the Visitors Book. However, upon arriving at the pub just after noon, we found out they didn't open until 2pm during the off season. Disappointed, we went to see the lighthouse at Scrumble Head and returned at 2:15pm. Unfortunately, we were informed that only the evening menu was available and they didn't serve lunch on weekdays. Disappointed, we left and do not plan on returning. We informed another group arriving about the lack of lunch service, causing them to leave as well. It seems like a missed opportunity for the pub in terms of revenue. It would be helpful for holiday cottages to inform guests about this policy. Overall, a disappointing experience."

"I was taken there by some friends for Sunday lunch today! The food was delicious, featuring a generous portion of perfectly cooked meat and an excellent selection of desserts. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the fact that it’s dog-friendly was a significant plus for me! I would definitely recommend it!"

"I had a cheese scone with delicious cream cheese and pickle, it was amazing, had to stop hubby from diving into his carrot and coriander soup, served with a real fresh crusty roll. The gardens looked amazing even in the drizzle and even though the main flowering season had passed, the very well thought out planting was still giving lots to look at, why doesn't mine look as good now! Everything was well priced, food, plants and gifts. Prices certainly gave St David's a run for their money and the quality was superb. Great service and such a well thought out place/project, if you don't visit here you will be missing out on one the top spots in the area!! We're going back for afternoon tea before we leave for home"
