Staff are excellent, food quality, presentation and cost is outstanding. Quality wines, white served chilled. A great experience.

What a great pub with a lovely staff. Also the locals were very friendly and in for a chit chat. Relaxed atmosphere! But... the food was also great and very delicious! So don't look further, this is the right spot for a few pints, food and a good atmosphere.

Camping at Kingswood and ate here twice. Lovely owners, amazing food and such great staff. All the girls behind the bar and waitressing are so lovely. Really impressed with this place. Highly recommend. Had Mussells first time with fresh bread, then had steak and hubby had chilli. Amazing.

Had a lovely meal. A little odd as people were ordering a just Eat and eating it at their tables. We spent a lot of money eating of the meal- which was fine but not amazing. Had we known we would have also ordered a Just Eat and eaten a curry/pizza in the garden. We will do next time as would be so much cheaper Ver carta

Hidden pub down the road from its more touristy snobby neighbour. It offers a fabulous pub garden and an old-fashioned game of 10 pin bowling. It has a covered outside area with a TV. Staff and locals are really friendly. The pub menu is well priced and delicious fresh grub. Good range of lagers, too. During the week, the pub only opens around 4 pm. But at the weekend from midday. Suggest booking at the weekend if you are more than a party of two.

My husband I, our twin grandsons little dog arrived on spec at the Rising Sun at Kingsdown yesterday in the hope of a good lunch were so glad we happened upon this pub. The two young ladies behind the bar were lovely; friendly welcoming very attentive to us. The food was delicious was presented very well, compliments to the chef. Our table was clean tidy. Clean well equipped toilets. A perfect eating experience. Thank you to all, we’ll definitely be back. 5*

If you are looking for a pub near Kingsdown beach, one that serves great food, by friendly staff, then this is the place for you. I booked a table for two for a couple of my guests that were celebrating their wedding anniversary. It was a short notice booking. From the moment the phone was answered, I knew it had been the right decision. Such welcoming staff and great food. The chef, Jake, cooked amazing homemade burgers and also scampi. Cooked to perfection. My guests couldn't speak highly enough. The service, by Mia, was friendly and welcoming. She made sure they were greeted warmly and congratulated them on their anniversary.
