"We recently visited Surfleet for the first time and were in need of a place to eat. The Riverside was the first restaurant we stumbled upon and we were pleasantly surprised with our experience. I ordered the lasagne, which was the best I've ever had in a pub, and my husband enjoyed his gammon steak. My meal came with garlic bread, skin-on fries, and a delicious salad. While it wasn't the cheapest option, the food was tasty and the service was very friendly. If it hadn't been windy, we would have enjoyed sitting outside by the river, which I imagine would be lovely on a nice day. Since we live two hours away, we may not return anytime soon, but if we do, we will definitely stop by again."

Stopped here as a pit stop en route to holiday! Staff very friendly and so accommodating to make me a veggie wrap when I didn’t fancy a burger! Food was delicious! Great pint and the outside area looks lovely!

Great choice, great value with portion size and great tasting food, lovely location next to the river. Parking could be a bit limited when busy but space on local roads. Friendly atmosphere, will definitely visit again

We booked a table for my daughter’s 21st birthday for 20 people the food was absolutely amazing, great service, and very child friendly the staff was incredible to. Can’t thank them enough for there service they provide night recommend and will be back in the future

the pub was taken over by new management and as native we were pleasantly surprised! it is a work in progress, but the decor looks ten times better and the atmosphere was fantastic on Friday night. we had curries and pizzas both delicious. large selection of drinks. we look forward to a visit.

Came in for the first time on a Friday lunchtime time, good selection of drinks and food menu was extensive. We had scampi and a pie, both were really good.My husband said the pie was delicious and would definitely go back for it! Staff were very friendly, we will look forward to visiting again.

I love this pub! This was my 2nd visit since moving to the area in December and both times the burgers have been amazing. It's great to sit outside in the sun next to the river, watching people swim and enjoy the weather. I've thoroughly enjoyed both my visits and very much look forward to going back. It has parking, a good atmosphere and is in a lovely location. It is dog friendly too. Highly recommend.

When we arrived at the restaurant, the owner greeted us with a warm welcome and showed us to our table even though we were early. The room was clean and comfortable, with a pristine shower and toilet. For dinner, we ordered the Sunday Sirloin Roast, which was absolutely delicious. The cheesecake dessert was also excellent, possibly the best we've ever had in any hotel or restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. Riverside, you've done a fantastic job.

I have marked it as a cut, just because this is the case now, but I want to be very clear, the new management makes a great work and that will be great. my room, although very simple in the decoration, was large, clean and the bed very comfortable. I had a great night. the view from the window over the river on the fields beyond was breathtaking and eating well and plentiful. the manager took the time to talk to me and ask how the dinge were, I have no doubt that the next time I stay there will be further improvements.
