Nice atmosphere. Sunday roast could be improved. The veg was too hard and the beef was rather thick and some was a bit gristly. Would much prefer real potatoes. I know it's for quickness but that little bit of extra time to peel potatoes would be so much better.

We dined there on Thursday night, with a party of four, all of us ordering steak. Unfortunately, the steaks had more fat than actual meat, and my partner's steak was undercooked, with blood oozing out. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 5.

Have been a few times here but went Sunday service was slow and food not as it usually is. Small portions. Pasta was clearly just out the microwave n there was more dish then pasta. The chicken burger was so extremely dry. The posh fish n chips was nice but quite greasy very disappointed Ver carta

Popped in for an unplanned weekday lunch, food was very good, ham, egg chips and the buttermilk crisp chicken burger. The staff were very pleasant and quick to serve us (after we had to remind them that we’d also ordered a pudding (so they’d been a little slow to take our main plates away). It was quiet when we went so it suited us, not so sure how service is when they’re busy ? The lady bringing our food was very friendly chatty which always makes you feel comfortable so we didn’t at all mind the slight delay. Would drop by again for sure.

I had a roast at the Royal Oak yesterday and after hearing a customer at the bar being quite rude towards the staff about hers I have to say my roast was amazing. I’ve had roast dinners there before which were nice but since the new menu they’re even better and I couldn’t fault it! Will definitely return for another soon. The staff were very understanding to the other customer I must say and offered her a replacement meal and complimentary drinks with no issues at all and I have always found staff to be very helpful and friendly and always strive to ensure customers have a good experience. Disgusting service last night came with colleagues after work (we are regulars) was eventually served by the rudest man with dark hair who didn't even acknowledge us when we came in just stared blankly and carried on with what he was doing behind the bar. After that “warm welcome” we bought drinks and went for a cigarette, we deliberately left our personals to prove we were still present AND stood in front of the window outside near our table with 2 1/4 filled drinks on the table barely drunk might I add.
