The Royal Quarterdeck

Lovely meals at the Royal Hotel restaurant yesterday. It was our plan B and I'm sure it was an improvement on Plan A! Beautiful food and great service.

I had lunch with a friend here today. We both had a burger which was good. Nice chips! Service was very friendly and a good location overlooking the beach

We had a very nice meal here. Rhe prices were about average for the area. The views from this restaurant are one of the best. Our waitress was Amy and she made us feel welcome and had a good knowledge of the menue

The food at this restaurant is incredible, especially the scallops and skate wing. The manager provided excellent service, and I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend bringing the family, as the kids menu is excellent.

The restaurant offers a wonderful selection of vegan dishes. I tried the fresh mushroom risotto and it was absolutely delicious - the best risotto I have ever had! The cheeseboard was excellent and they also have great sandwiches on the menu.

Made to feel welcome the moment we entered , service very good and quick. I wanted a non alcohol beer and was offered a bottle of ‘N0.50ty Bear, Boy was that good, a real ale where you could smell and taste the hops. Food was delicious but one point I had the jolly hog sausage sandwich whole meal bread, which although really tasty, fell apart before it got to my mouth ! Suggestion: would be better if served in either a roll or 1/2 baguette. Also, my wife, who is disabled would like to have the mirror in the disabled toilet lowered about 1ft as she found it difficult to see more than the top of her head.. Other than those two points — EXCELLENT.

I ordered the pulled pork. It had a lot of crackling but didn't seem to be a lot of meat. Also just 4 carrots and not much potato. It was disappointing and a burger or similar would have been better. I will know this for future reference. I did have the baileys bread pudding with caramelised Bananas. I think that was potentially the best part. They do have outside seating in two places, one overlooking the sea (not very clear due to the barriers on the wall. In part this I believe for storm protection and another small seating area. After careful consideration, I have decided to write this review in English. The restaurant is clean and very dog-friendly. Its beachside location in the summer makes it a must-visit spot. The staff is friendly, although one member can come off as a bit abrasive. They tend to have loud conversations, which can be off-putting during quiet dining times. This can be avoided by sitting in the restaurant area, which is also dog-friendly. The chef is clearly talented, but everything on the menu seems to contain garlic, making it difficult for those who don't enjoy the taste or are allergic to it. Went with hubby, table booked for 8pm. Had our mains, everything fine. Came and cleared the plates, then we waited, restaurant wasn’t busy I might add and there were sufficient staffing numbers. After about 15 minutes we politely asked for the dessert menu. After about another 10 minutes someone came to take our order. By this time there’s only us and one other couple and it’s about 9:15 pm.
