"Visited with family last weekend and had the most delicious food. I had a chicken sizzler which came with a huge portion of rice and chips, my son had a chicken curry also with rice and chips, we asked for a smaller portion for him, but still the portion was huge… He was very happy! Food was beautifully cooked and very filling. Very relaxed and homely pub, we were treated very well by the lovely and attentive bar staff, bringing us drinks and checking all was ok with our food. I can’t recommend this place enough for the best home cooked food and relaxing atmosphere. 10/10 from us! We’ll be back very soon."

Went there for Sunday lunch yesterday, food was absolutely amazing and most importantly piping hot. We find this very hard for eateries to do these days but it is a must in our books. Will definitely be going back.

Staying at a nearby cottage and after a 3 hour drive to get here, we visited The Shakespeare Inn for a well-earned drink and food. 3 cask ales on offer. The food was of the highest quality, generous portions, and well priced. Staff were very polite and friendly, especially to our dog, Dexter. This is a must revisit location.

Four of us visited on Father’s Day and had a roast dinner each from the Sunday menu. The food was really, really nice. The food was all fresh, hot and tasty (especially the cauliflower cheese! We all had puddings which were similarly awesome. Found the staff to be friendly and we didn’t have any trouble flagging someone down for more drinks/puddings etc. I’d definitely go again!

Great food and service. They catered for a party of 10 for a Sunday dinner. Food was pre ordered and we didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive. All good quality, good portions and well priced. Staff were amazing, especially as one of us had some dietary requirements and they dealt with this no problem, which made her day thanks to Brett for sorting this out. Puddings were also lovely. Would recommend and come back again

I initially had a pint of ale that smelt off. Second was ok. I ordered a chicken Madras which you could choose with rice or chips or combination of both. I just don't know how the kitchen had arrived at this plate of food. It was watery and flavourless, swimming in watery liquid, lacking any seasoning. I can only imagine it had been frozen and then reheated. To be as kind as possible to the (chef? , perhaps buy some ready made kits at the supermarket, rice and diced meat and you couldn't go too far wrong.

Booked for husbands birthday, we were sat on table right next to bar which meant we were disturbed every time a member of staff went past to serve at the bar….Noisy Locals were right next to our table, felt like we had an audience while eating food. Staff were also too busy socialising with the locals and not interested in looking after customers wanting food. We asked for a starter that actually came out with main meals, food was cold and had been standing around, we have visited on several occasions and have always enjoyed our meals… we definitely will not be returning! Disappointing!

"we wanted to visit the midlands and family for the first time since Christmas and in the frame of the visit I decided that we would take my mother for a nice Sunday dinner. she lives in telford and I am not familiar with the contrary so that I am on tripadvisor for ideas. I mean, I was looking for restaurants in Telford and sorted by rating; clays of broseley was the best from the list and that was what I booked. it is about a minute drive from my mother place through a beautiful shropshire landscape. we arrived in broseley a little early and found a parking space right in front of the restaurant. we were invited to take place on the terrace while they opened and had some drinks. I had a fantastic homemade limonade with glittering water, my mother had a Rhabarb juice that was so delicious that we were strolling home with us and my wife had a very nice pot tee. we had booked a table that had been placed in the restaurant for us, but we were offered the table on the terrace for lunch, which we liked to accept as the weather was perfect. we all ordered from the midday card, which for two courses and for three courses was a fantastic bargain. I ordered salmon and hake meatcakes with delicate brokolli, spargas and a white wine sauce and my wife and mother both ordered the beef Sirloin roast dinner. I was so impressed with eating. honestly, this restaurant lives up to all reviews. the ingredients were fresh and tasty and not refined as they get some places. to dessert my mother and I both had the rhubarb and custard' and playful plate that rhubarb compott, gelee, vanilla cream and small mygues combined crazy. the perfect end for every afternoon. during the meal were the employees (I'm sorry to say that I didn't get their names) attentive and friendly. our month old sohn, henry, has a stinking cold and has teethed, so was not on his best behavior, but the staff was fantastic with him. They even went so far that they broke out one of their dogs, a beautiful, huge dog called barney, for henry's entertainment. to cover everything, and this is great for parents of small children, they had a full baby change unit, complete with diapers, wipes and unhappy bags! I can honestly say I've never seen this before. all in all, for three nets, two desserts and drinks, the bill came less than unnecessary to say, I intend to visit again when we are close. I really can't wait."
