Visiting a sofa shop and looking for a quick lunch stop and drink arrived at and very friendly reception and lovely sandwich jacket potato and pint of Timothy Taylor’s . Special board looked very enticing . Lovely open fire and warm atmosphere.... Very enjoyable .

Went to the six bells for the first time since lockdown after St Albans party in the park. The beer garden has been transformed beyond recognition. Great vibe and despite being busy, a relatively short wait at the bar for drinks. Even though the pub...is in St Albans, it had a country pub feel about it with the low ceilings and set up inside. Good drink options too

we enjoyed a birthday meal for four people. the service was warm, efficient and professional. a special request to sit on a cold December day on fire was met. everyone enjoyed eating. the only (minor) critique is that there were too many dogs. four barking under the tables. might these customers use the external or a certain section of the spatialities? overall we cannot wait to come back.

nice pub. great food. great staff! from all of us had appetizers and net and all excellent. good size helps! service was great. always nice to hear that they ask more drinks? and they remember all your drinks! like we all on different! Well...prices also my only complaining, and it's just mine. adele was constantly on sound system and I'm not a fan! but. they have changed for us. great pub and would definitely recommend!

I was looking for a Sunday lunch in St Albans and I booked the Bells purely on the location I was so pleasantly surprised the Sunday roast I had the chicken my hubby had the lamb was really wonderful ..the staff were very very attentive and the portions were large I have grown up sons . I am quite fussy when it comes to eating out the veg was perfectly cooked, everything was super tasty and the Yorkshire pudding was . Will be returning !

my thanks to lisa and sammy for a great afternoon visit yesterday, my apologies for the few abnormalities, but they were on medical grounds and apart from one I telephoned them in advance. great eating, hospitality, wonderful personal, social distancing rules, (we are all...triple jabbed,) a wonderful afternoon as always and we have raised for herts air ambulance as our chosen charity. I tried to have a quick drink here this Sunday but when I went to the bar I was turned away with an unapologetic we're fully booked'. I understand that they were busy, but there were empty tables outside, and I would have had a...drink standing if necessary. I understand a restaurant needing a reservation, but for a pub to require a booking to serve a drink is a bit ridiculous. I got the impression they need more staff who are more customer focused and aware of the availability of tables. I won't be going back in a hurry.

We popped in here with both of our well behaved dogs after a walk at Heartwood, delighted to find the inside all low ceilings, beams and a log fire burning away... There was a lovely welcome from the staff and it was clear that we...should have booked with all the reserved signs on the tables. Luckily, they squeezed us in and we managed to get two good vegan/veggie meals even though the kitchen was soon to close the main menu had lots of options for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free too generous portions and tasty food! It was only afterwards that we noticed they had a whole other specials board too we will have to come back again! Thanks

beautiful small land pub in st albans, unfortunatley less can be said about the service and eating. we have booked a table for children and a senior in the company. we sat right next to the doorstep, the extreamley was...we ordered our food and it took a half hours to come. in the future, eating was cold and the portions were tiny for the prices we paid, we were also greeted with a service fee, one of which was a sweat, because the service was ridiculous and a complete tear, workers struggled in view of customers and I had noticed other tables complaining about their bills and the food prices. Overall, I would not recommend this facility to anyone that as our party was looking forward to a p...
