The staff at this restaurant has a truly terrible attitude towards customers. It's best to avoid this place and dine somewhere where your business is appreciated. They seem to forget that it is the customers who keep them in business.

Not been here for a while but still as good as ever. Starters were good (Guinness pulled beef croquets and fish taco). The rump of roast beef was superb. A nice thick piece of beef rather than thin slices. Didn't get to dessert, as we were quite full. Also tried Thatcher's Blood Orange cider, really good.

Just had Sunday lunch with wife and son. Food was not acceptable standard for price. Potatoes tasted like powdered smash and had lumps in them. Roast beef had absolutely no taste. Roast potatoes tasted like frozen ones. Noone finished their food. £2.20 for 200mls of flat coke. What a joke. I used to love this place. What the hell has happened to it. We most definately will not be back. Such a shame as always loved this place.

Went to The Speckled Hen for our first wedding anniversary dinner, after many recommendations from friends. We were so impressed! Friendly staff, beautiful decor, lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing, it looked and smelled SO GOOD that we forgot to take photos and immediately tucked in!! So so good! I have absolutely no complaints but I'd be happy if apple tart or chocolate cake could be added to the desert menu haha Highly recommend, such a great place

I am baffled by the fact that individuals lacking in customer service skills are employed in a customer-oriented industry. It was not surprising to come across several reviews criticizing the staff and their behavior towards customers. While the restaurant itself and the food are satisfactory (albeit expensive), the staff's attitude greatly affects the overall experience. Specifically, two staff members are disrespectful and haughty, and could benefit from incorporating feedback from reviews in order to improve the restaurant's success.

Martin, the manager, has been described as the rudest person in the world. It is suggested to steer clear of this restaurant as it is not worth a visit due to his behavior. He has been unnecessarily rude on two separate occasions. Despite giving the restaurant a second chance, there will not be a third. His attitude is unexpected from a manager. Instead, it is recommended to visit the nearby family-run restaurant, The Crafty Hound, where the staff is much friendlier and the food is excellent. It is advised to avoid Martin and his unpleasantness and opt for The Crafty Hound instead. AWFUL.I’m aware that businesses are struggling, as our many households. Daylight robbery! We as a family often eat out all over Northern Ireland and beyond. The price of this dinner was catastrophic, daylight robbery for such poor quality. I have no complaints about the staff, I found them very attentive and relatively pleasant. Popped in for a light bite with my daughter today. Service was terrible and the food not much better. Doesn't come as described on the menu, staff unwilling take any adjustments. When our plates were collected and we were asked, for the first time since receiving our meal, if our food was OK, we responded with it was just OK. Our plates were removed and we were ignored for the rest of our visit. No offer of drinks or desserts, rude and uncaring about the whole customer experience.
