"We travelled from Doncaster to visit my brother for New Year's Eve. We were looking for somewhere go for an early evening meal and managed to get a table mid afternoon at this lovely pub. What a find. We all went for the beef roast dinner and from the presentation to the staff serving ourselves was amazing. The meat, yorkshire puddings and roasties were all served on a platter and the array of vegetable selection just kept on coming to the table. It was a pleasure to have proper home cooked food, which is a rarity these days. Unfortunately, we had full bellies and could not manage a sweet, maybe next time we are over. Thankyou to all the staff that served us. It was a lovely few hours spent in such a warm and welcoming pub. Pity that we don't live nearer"

"We ordered a bottle of pink Prosecco but received the wrong kind, and when I asked for a pint of soda water, I ended up with just a half. The waitress had exceptionally long fingernails, which made it difficult for her to carry the plates, and the cutlery provided was incorrect—we had to specify what we needed. For my meal, I ordered trout, which looked and tasted remarkably like salmon. My wife ordered scampi and chips, but it arrived dripping with oil and was very unappetizing; she couldn't eat it and sent it back. Our friends ordered chicken supreme, but it came on the bone with a sauce that resembled chicken soup. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, and I doubt we’ll return. I dislike leaving negative reviews, but the staff clearly need more training, and I hope this feedback can help them improve. On a positive note, I must mention that the pub area downstairs looked cozy and inviting, complete with a large fireplace and comfortable seating. We would have preferred to just stop in for a drink there instead."

"Great little pub, quirky with its rustic look, food very good service freindly and unhurried. Has its own car park. Good selection of drinks. Does bed and breakfast at a reasonable cost. Vegetarian options: I am sure they can provide vegetarian options Parking: There is parking for about 7 cars directly outside but 50 yards further up the road there is more off road parking available. Kid-friendliness: Staff are helpful however no kids facilities like play area however you would need to enquire. Wheelchair accessibility: Possible to enter by side entrance. May be difficult to negotiate mobility of wheelchair once inside. Is not disabled freindly for overnight stays"

"Dreadful place avoid it !! Rude chef who decided to engage in a tirade slagging off paying customers when asked if a slight change to a dish could be made (perfectly prepared to pay extra) dark dingy hole, needs a lesson in customer service . Doing so well on a Friday, only 2 customers in entire place and can afford to disrespect customers really ?!!! When this place goes to the wall they will have been the authors of their own misfortune. Arrogant and amateur Needs a visit from Gordon Ramsay. No clue! Despicable place !!"

"On arrival the greeting was first class, made everyone aware of no alcohol but places close by to get a drink if needed, gave us a menu and in very cold night put the fire on (although was very cold in the restaurant! Pickle tray was fine with average generic sauces, starter was two of the smallest samosa I have ever seen then came the main.........Very poor! My partner being vegan asked for a spicy veg curry etc, I had the lamb bhuna. They were both a watery mess with 0 spice and no flavour, honestly so so bland! We left well over half of both, the mushroom rice was a good portion but very stodgy and stuck together! My keema nan was OK but nothing more than that but the cherry on the top was £8 for 4 small chapati, it's flour and water!!!!!!!! £8 for something not even the size of a regular naan when you added the 4 together. For what we had it was very expensive and we were hugely disappointed. The staff were pleasant but when questioned at the end just said sorry and were keen to usher us out the door as customers were close to the paying area. Sorry, but would not recommend at all"
