"I want to extend my gratitude to the staff for a wonderful Easter Sunday dinner for our entire family. It was brilliant, and we were very pleased with the experience. The staff were welcoming, maintained eye contact, and were incredibly friendly—nothing was too much trouble for them. They greeted us with smiles. The pub food was excellent, and we enjoyed a lovely private room that allowed us to celebrate together as a family. The welcome packages for the kids and the Easter surprise packages were a delightful touch. The outdoor play area was great, and it’s no surprise the parking lot was full. The atmosphere, both inside and outside, was pleasant and inviting. We also appreciated the non-alcoholic beer options. Without a doubt, we will be returning, especially since they are so accommodating for our little ones!"

Lovely food for a very filling Sunday lunch. Cask beers limited but what was there was well cared for. Not so busy but our reservation was a good idea.

very nice restaurant/pub, good food and service, although sometimes a little slow. prices averaged, although some meal times are somewhat expensive compared to elsewhere, but overall worth the visit. Ver carta

An absolute country gem!! Love, love love this place!! The menu is great and had so many options, the staff are always super friendly and helpful. The pub is traditional county style, it's very clean and the warming coal fire is charming.

Great village pub with good lunchtime menu. The pub was busy at lunchtime and maybe the food was the reason why. The homemade steak pie was good with plenty filling. There was also a good selection of real ales. Would certainly visit again

really enjoyed the stags head on Mother's Day, just down, I asked for my steak, medium to be rare, and it came medium / well done, so a bit hard. but we will not go again. we have tipped when the staff was very friendly, which always makes a difference Ver carta

Everything was perfect! I booked a Sunday dinner for 26 people to celebrate my parents' diamond wedding anniversary. There were many choices on the menu to accommodate everyone, and everyone agreed that the food was delicious. Everything was served hot and on time. The staff was fantastic—professional and friendly. I honestly couldn't find any faults and would highly recommend it. Well done, Stag's Head!

However, the service was disappointing. The staff seemed to consist of young people lacking in interpersonal skills. We spent £70 on a shared starter, a main course each, a bottle of wine, and two alcoholic drinks, yet not a single person checked in to see if we were enjoying our meal—neither during nor after our dining experience. It felt like the staff was either undertrained or simply didn’t care, which is a shame because the place has great potential. If the service had been better, we would have considered returning, but as things currently stand, we likely won’t.

"Went for a birthday meal as recently moved to the area and hadn’t been for about 30 years. Well, first thing to say is that nothing seems to have changed since I last came, and it looked dated then. Decor is very tired and in desperate need of modernisation. it looks like it was last updated in the 1970‘s and hasn’t been touched since. When we arrived we were greeted by a scruffy bar area, where we waited to be seated. After a modest wait (we were told 30 mins, but it was actually a bit less) we were shown to our table. On entering the restaurant area we passed the dessert cabinet. Normally you would expect a restaurant to use this to showcase its treats. Instead the cabinet was a sad state of affairs with some sorry looking desserts in it and cartons of supermarket custard at the bottom. We were a group of four and were given a table set for seven because this was the only one available, so had to push three chairs to the end to make it feel comfortable. As for the food, I can only describe it as very disappointing. The Lasagne looked like it had been cremated and then sat around for ages, while the pizza looked like a £1 meal deal with a hint of pepperoni rather than something freshly made. Fair to say we didn’t bother with dessert. The only positive I can give Franco’s is that the service was fine and the staff were polite and attentive. But overall, it was a very disappointing experience. If I live long enough then I might go back again in another 30 years, just to see if anything has changed."
