The Star - Carta

It's a hidden gem in Godalming. They had gone overboard with the Halloween theme. Lots of nooks and crannies. Had a Guinness, and enjoyed the ambience.

What a fantastic pub! We booked a table in the garden and pre ordered our lunch It was absolutely fabulous and the staff were great too. Love the garden decor it’s so cosy and inviting. Food was fabulous too x

My experience at The Star Inn in Godalming for lunch was excellent. We enjoyed two fantastic meals and a wonderful variety of ales (I tried a plum and brandy porter and a raspberry wheat beer). The staff was attentive and friendly. A top-notch pub! Ver carta

The pub is fantastic with friendly service and great beer. However, I was disappointed that the live music on Boxing Day was held in a small back room, making it difficult to enjoy the music from the bar area. The pub should work on making music and musicians more prominent.

The food was delicious, the staff were incredibly friendly and gave me great recommendations, and the atmosphere was cozy. I highly recommend this place! The beef was amazing and the wine suggestions were fantastic. I had a wonderful evening! Thank you to Rosa and everyone at The Star!

We used to live round the corner but unfortunately had to moved away. However just had my mum flying to see us and she said I wails love to have a prawn tempura and few other small snacks … this place is perfect if you have a drink and fancy some nice tempura prawns , scampi or huge Nachos : All staff exceptionally nice : It’s not our first visit and definitely not the last : Ver carta

Visiting Godalming for the first time, The Star quickly became my favourite pub. Very old building, around 200 years old with few changes. Small bar at front but extends back to a further bar and garden. Very welcoming staff and very busy. i am a Camra member and by chance, visited during an ale festival. Around 40 ales on offer, usually around 15. Lots of choice and some of my favourites. Will definately return.

Best selection of craft beers I've seen for a long time. I have the Tilford IPA and the Dr Johnson Bitter and both were awesome. We all had the Sunday Roast, which was simply amazing. Best Sunday Roast at a Pub I've ever had and at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent and the ambience of the Pub itself just what we were looking for. I recommend ordering the Roast in advance to make sure you get the choice you want. They will eventually run out. My wife had the Lamb and I had the Chicken and both were perfect.

The pub is renowned for its amazing selection of ales ciders. Usually about 10 12 draft ales. Also it is the home of Godalming Beer Works, who brew some very good ales. Try First Light, it is so well balanced. The food is also fantastic! Their large selection oif burgers has something for everyone (I had the Mexican, with home made chilli, mashed avocado, sour cream jalapenos YUM! . I should also mention that all burgers come with dressed salad, coleslaw, red cabbage slaw and their amazing triple cooked chips.
