This was our first visit here, we’d heard good reviews and the experience didn’t disappoint. Nice atmosphere and all the staff were welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The food we ordered was lovely, well presented, hot and plentiful overall a really nice meal out, thank you.

I go regular to the star inn, every single occasion I go, the food is always delicious. The atmosphere is always top class. It is a lovely country public house and no need to change. Everything from food to drink to ambience , staff is fantastic, even more than fantastic. Don’t ever change your doing everything right ,

Contrary to previous posters review we had no problems whatsoever at The Star. We dined twice over a 3 week period, food was beautiful on both occasions. The waitresses, yes are young girls, but very helpful, and, hardworking when we were there. Also the pub is a country pub, updating it and modernising it would ruin it. Ver carta

Traditional British pub/restaurant. My latest visit with my wife was a very pleasant experience as what we have come to expect. As always friendly atmosphere and very good food. Plenty of choice from the menu and they have a specials board, which changes every week. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Friendly, efficient staff, happy vibes , what more would you want?

This was my first time visiting The Star and I was initially impressed by the spacious layout and bar area - it was much bigger than I had anticipated. I was in a large group of friends (over 30 people) and the staff handled serving us all very well. I had hoped to recommend the restaurant for my monthly book club meetings, but unfortunately, the food was extremely salty. I found it nearly inedible, and I wasn't the only one who felt that way. I suggest reminding the chef that salt can be added at the table by the customer, but it cannot be taken away. This experience ruined my first impression and I will not be returning.

My wife and I hosted an evening dinner for her 80th birthday at The Star Rainford last Saturday night. The Star catered for meals for 32 people main meals, starters and puds.and were enjoyed by all our guests. All the meals were served at the same time and all were hot and tasty just as you'd want. The staff on the night were without doubt brilliant down to the boys and girls serving meals and drinks and the front of house ladies. Emma, Lisa, and Chris who were the perfect hostesses all night and are so very friendly and have always been very kind to my wife. The food served was so numerous to mention but as a regular customer at the Star I can say that the food is excellent with a good choi... Ver carta
