Could be a great place. Lovely area around it generally. Pub seemed very run down and could do with a real spring clean. The food was ok I guess hard to go wrong on all day breakfast I suppose. Staff were decent folk but working here would suck the life out of me. Visited on Friday afternoon and it was utterly empty. Needs a real boost.

We went for lunch and chose items off the set menu which was good value as it included a drink. The food was absolutely superb, especially the sausage and mash. The dining area is very ornate and attractive. Surprisingly there were not many customers We knocked a star off the atmosphere rating purely because it was so quiet but otherwise a great place. I've always enjoyed my meals here, but I'm not sure what's happened to the place. When I checked the wine cooler, there were only a few bottles available, and quite a few that had already been opened. I asked the young girl if they were expecting a delivery, and she mentioned that the previous shift hadn’t stocked up. I get it, but this was at 6 PM on a Saturday night—surely someone could have taken care of that earlier in the day? It seems like things have really declined. Ver carta

If this is how they treat loyal customers, then being a manager involved in handling complaints is clearly not for her. As for the food, I had wanted curry, but there was no indication on the menu that they had run out. I ended up ordering something else under pressure, and when it arrived, it was cold. I noticed that several other patrons were also complaining about their cold food! Additionally, they didn’t have the dessert I wanted, and there was no apology for any of this. After being treated so poorly, I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I won't be recommending it to anyone.

On one of our recent outings, we ordered the following: - 1 Guinness: £4.25 - 2 bottles of Pinot Grigio (we chose to take a taxi home): £41.00 - Starters: Chilli Prawns: £8.00, Chicken Pâté: £6.50 - Main Courses: Rump Steak (cooked medium, which was excellent): £21.00, paired with a glass of Malbec (250ml): £7.15, and Chicken Caesar: £13.50 Our total came to: £101.40. The recent refurbishment has greatly improved the atmosphere of the pub. There's also a separate bar area for those who prefer not to eat in the dining space. I really have no complaints about the staff; they are fantastic. Patrick, who I believe is one of the managers, stands out in particular for his exceptional service.

I've been to this restaurant twice in the past few weeks, and overall, my experience has been positive, except for one instance when we waited an hour for our food despite there being only one other occupied table. The food has consistently been served hot and well-prepared. The waitress was wonderful—friendly and attentive. The bar staff and manager seemed agreeable and handled our request to change a child's food order without any problems. However, I did feel a bit like we were bothering her when we approached the bar and found her either outside smoking or on her phone.
