After not using this pub for 2 years due to very bad service we decided to give it a go as it now as new management, it is a nice pub but lacks atmosphere especially late in the evening probably due to it closing at 11pm, the food was ok but over priced especially the starters.

We have booked for a Mother’s Day Set menu, were said there were no broccoli or cauliflower cheese left and it was only 3pm, but we overhear the waitress say another table that they cook a new batch. The main (roast) was tasteless and the meat was very fat, Veg was also rock hard

The roast for the main course was bland, with very fatty meat, and the vegetables were undercooked and hard.

Really bad service. The staff could not with our table of 6 and always our orders wrong and it was all very slow. They always forgot to take things out so that we were still looking for a waiter to ask them to bring along the missing dishes/drinks. The food was average. Good atmosphere and with better employees it would have been a much better experience.

The service at this restaurant was not up to standard. The staff struggled to accommodate our party of 6, constantly mixing up orders and serving us at a slow pace. We had to repeatedly remind them to bring out missing dishes and drinks. The food was mediocre at best. Despite the good atmosphere, a better-trained and more attentive staff could greatly improve the overall experience.

this is a nice pub and when eating properly it is decent, but last year I was fed a veg pipe with blue cheese in it! suddenly they had two dishes with the same name, a vegan and not one. after a few mouthful I knew something was wrong. the management has not apologised, simply repeating that it is not your fault this pub is local for the family of my partners, so I have been in there since, this time what we wanted, was not available. new management are much better now, and one of the chefs is really accommodating, so perhaps it is worth seeing it yourself.

No fillet or rib eye steaks offered me a rag steak that was not at all on the menu, with all the trims of a fry at the price of the frying. I had, but the steak wasn't tender and quite dry. We can expect the roasts to be finished early Sunday evening, but also not steaks and other dishes. We were not asked how the food was, so no suitable opportunity to let them know. Instead, I was offered a rump steak, which was not even on the menu, with all the trimmings from a roast at the price of the roast. The steak was not tender and quite dry. It was disappointing to find out that the steaks and other dishes had finished early on a Sunday evening. We were not asked about the food, so we had no opportunity to provide feedback.
