"WOW, just WOW! I chose this restaurant because I had seen so many pictures and heard about what Ben did during the lockdown. It was also a place where I reunited with some old friends, and no one was disappointed with the food. Three people at our table ordered the vegan tart, and they said it was packed with flavor and absolutely amazing. Every course was brilliant, and now everyone is making plans to bring their partners back! I definitely recommend it to anyone! "

"Had a lovely afternoon tea for my mothers 80th birthday on 01 July, just how afternoon tea should be, pristine white table clothes, sparkling glasses, real tea and coffee pots, sandwiches with no crusts, and a excellent selection of cakes along with the obligatory scones with an assortment of jam and clotted cream, the service was excellent. Mum had a lovely time and has since commented on it all being perfect.... And that's all that matters to me. So a big thank you to the staff at Softleys for helping make her day....."

"This is a lovely pub! I stopped by for lunch after taking a walk in the area. I really appreciated the thoughtful touch of having shoe covers for walkers at the entrance. The staff are warm and welcoming, and I enjoyed a great lunch at an incredibly reasonable price. I will definitely be back. It's absolutely worth a visit! Price per person: £1–10. Food: 5/5. Service: 5/5. Atmosphere: 5/5."

"Rude manager who blocks you from leaving reviews on Facebook page! Ordered a takeaway and the first time it was good. Second time was absolutely awful and completely different to the first time we ordered! Got a rude reply from the manager and then got blocked from being able to book a table to try again! (We live local) The standard of food we received the second time was worse than mc Donald’s! And then to receive a rude reply from management and to be blocked from Facebook after being ignored about my complaint for months is disgusting! Shows exactly what type of manager he is! Will not ever return and have showed lots of local people the photos of how bad the food was we received. So many other local. Friendly restaurants around. Do not recommend at all!"

"Such a real shame, this place used to be amazing and we loved going! Unfortunately after visiting recently for my partners birthday we had a terrible experience, awful service, food OK but not like it used to be (might have just been OK due to how long we had to wait and how hungry we all were) we arrived and we’re placed in the conservatory type room, it was EXTREMELY loud you couldn’t hear yourself think! With two elderly people in the family it was difficult for them and none of us were able to talk to each other therefore I asked the waitress if there was a possibility if we could move as the noise was just too much! There was a table sat next to us a group of girls who was just having a good time and we knew it wasn’t there fault for being loud but due to how the conservatory was built the noise just echos so everything sounds much louder.. the waitress then after speaking to us when straight to the table and started whispering whilst they all turned and looked at our table it made things so AWKWARD! None of us could then relax, the waitress did then come back and say another table had become available in the main building so we did move. Then the food well my dad is type 1 diabetic and it just took so long when we challenged how much longer it would take (as at this point we were so hungry and dad very low) the waitress did nothing more than print off the receipt and slap it on the table with our food and say look ‘only 40 minutes from placing the order’ no apology, no nothing. We were gobsmacked! Some of the food was just OK, some not great and when feeding back to the staff with specific details on why we weren’t happy they were very defensive again we got no apology. After spending over £200 in there, we got no recognition that we were really unhappy with our experience and some meals were not even touched. Unfortunately I won’t be going to the place ever again, and for future feedback I would be ensuring staff are trained on how to deal with negative feedback complaints appropriately."
