"It was Indian week in the Escoffier when we visited. We have been here a good few times now and it is a reliably excellent experience. The front of house students are overseen by Marc who seems to be an exacting, though unobtrusive and understanding, tutor. The restaurant is teaching them the full on silver service waiting style in a live environment, and there might be the odd blip it will not spoil your day and it’s part of the trade off for getting amazing food at these prices. Josh was our server and he was very friendly and capable. The food as usual leaves you amazed at the level of cooking and presentation that the students are capable of. The highlights today were the starter (samosas and assorted other nibbles) and the lentil soup complete with onion bhaji ‘crouton’. Plus the dessert the name of which I forget but which was a dish involving carrots, mango purée and pineapple sorbet. A strangely lovely thing. Unusually, I felt that vegetarians were a little bit short changed by the main course. It was a perfectly nice vegetable curry, but compared to the lamb chops that meat eaters got it felt a bit simplistic. There were a couple of issues with the timing of intervals between courses a couple of longish delays as I said it won’t spoil your day, and makes a change from being given an hour and a half before they turn the tables in a commercial place. I say again: it’s a training restaurant. A six course tasting menu for £35 is fabulous value in these times, and for another £35 you get four wine pairings. The students here have real skill and hopefully bright futures in hospitality. They need your support, and you should go!"

The staff were friendly, the food was delicious and I had a great time. It was lovely seeing the students on the job, practicing their skills. This is a great community restaurant and their special edition menus are a blast so please go!

What a fantastic way to support young individuals training for a career in the hospitality industry. This restaurant serves as a classroom for students under the supervision of the fantastic Mark Whitley, who guides, encourages, and praises his students during service. The menu featuring classic British cuisine was outstanding, with excellent cooking and presentation. Our waiter and sommelier were polite and confident, a testament to Mark's training. We wish these students all the best in their future careers. And a special shout out to Sandra for her perfect cooking, and who could have imagined baked bean butter!

Went during “Spanish Week” with the family and it was another fantastic evening. I’ve been lucky enough to dine at The Escoffier Room a few times. At face value, it’s fantastic food at an amazing price…..but that’s not really what the evening is about. Under the keen eye of Marc, the students get to practice their culinary and “front of house” skills with an appreciative audience. The food was delicious, the ambience wonderful, the service charming…….kudos to all the students, but especially Ted, Katherine and Ross. Thank you for a wonderful evening and hope to see you soon…..and for anyone reading this review, Shhhh! Don’t tell everyone as it’s hard enough to get a table. Ver carta

I may be slightly biased as my son is a third-year chef at this restaurant, where all the menu creation, cooking, and serving is done by college students. However, I must say that the experience was fantastic. The Welsh themed tasting menu was delicious and a great deal at £35. The ingredients were impeccable and the dishes were professionally presented. For an additional £35, you can have four paired wines delivered and explained by your sommelier. The whole experience was wonderful and intimate, with no more than 30 customers enjoying the food at a time. In any other restaurant in London, this experience would easily cost at least £100 per person. The staff were professional, the presentat...

The Escoffier recently received a prestigious award for being the best college restaurant, but in my opinion, this title doesn't do it justice. The five-course tasting menu for £35 was truly exceptional. It had a Spanish theme and was cooked and presented to a very high standard. The trainee chefs were able to produce food of an exceptional quality that other restaurants can only dream of. The kitchen and waiting staff were overseen by Marc Whitley, the Directeur Du Restaurant at Escoffier, who ensured that all patrons received a consistent level of service. I regret not taking pictures of each course as I cannot now share them with you. The restaurant has a Josper grill which ensured that m...

Having been recommended Escoffier Restaurant by my friend, I was surprised that I haven't hear of this before. What a little gem! The ambiance is relaxing and not stuffy but definitely a cut above your regular restaurant. This place is staffed by students in training. The food was superb. Such an array of tastes and flavours. Delicious! secondly, we had the most attentive waiter, Luke, who's attention to detail and professionalism was phenomenal. Let's face it, this waiting business is darn hard work and it's difficult to read the customers and deliver the delights all at the same time. Well, Luke managed that. He added in a few little personal touches of his personality that was brilliant.... Ver carta

The Vincent Rooms is part of Westminster Kingsway College and is one of the hidden treasures of central London. The dishes are cooked and served by students – and based on their list of alumni this is the next generation of renowned international chefs. This is our first visit, but won't be our last. The food was excellent, certainly at or very close, to Michelin Bib Gourmand standard – with a well thought out menu 100% meeting the theme of the lunch (in our case “Best of British” . We had lunch on the first day of a new rotation (the students move between the various modules such as front of house, waiting, cheffing etc . You would expect the young people to be nervous (I'm sure we all reme...

I think this is our fourth visit to the Escoffier Rooms, though our first lunch. It is such a pretty room. We'd be regular visitors if we were less constrained by school holidays (when the students are on vacation too). I'd love a better booking module on the website so you could see what dates are available, rather than discovering which are not by trial and error. A minor niggle. We arrived for Welsh week and were pleased that they could accommodate us a little earlier than we were scheduled to arrive. As usual the food was lovely. I particularly appreciate being able to switch between vegetarian and meat based menu. I've never had a badly cooked dish (and some have been outstanding especi...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
