The Vine - Carta

The restaurant was extremely pricey. Unfortunately, we were unaware that downloading the app would provide a significant discount. We felt like we were overcharged for just an average meal, a shared dessert, and two drinks each, totaling £70.00.

The Vine has been refurbished and a good job has been done. It’s lovely inside and the staff are very attentive and pleasant. The menu choice has something for everyone. I visited for lunch With a friend and we were there three hours! We will be going again.

Husband had beef and merlit pie which was delicious and I had Korean chicken skewers with triple cooked chips and mango salsa. Felt like I was abroad eying the salsa. It was beautiful. Generous portions. Staff lovely. Definitely will go back and highly recommend Ver carta

Was treated to lunch here by a very dear friend to celebrate a big birthday, we received excellent service from our waitress Maree. The pub has recently been very tastefully refurbished which provided a lovely ambience to sit and chat. Food was nice and we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

We had a fantastic dining experience at The Vine. The restaurant has recently undergone a refurbishment, which was very pleasant. The food was top-notch with great quality and presentation. The prices were reasonable and the service was superb - very attentive and friendly. Kerrie took excellent care of our table.

The warm welcome with a beautiful smile set the tone for a wonderful experience at this restaurant. We felt comfortable and well taken care of as soon as we walked in. We had a family visit for Sunday lunch, which was a first for us although we have been on an evening before and enjoyed the experience. Unfortunately the Sunday lunch was disappointing, the parsnips were very hard couldn’t even cut them and not roasted at all. The roast potatoes were also hard and not even coloured. The Yorkshire pudding was cold and soggy I couldn’t eat it. The rest of the meal was ok and the dessert was very nice (fruit crumble). It was disappointing and spoiled my lunch , the meal was taken off the bill but I would much rather have had an enjoyable experience. Hopefully with Christmas lunches coming up the problem will be resolved and we can look forward to nice crispy ro...

Our first visit. Turned up early for our reservation to have a drink but table ready so sat down. Our waitress Isobel was efficient, helpful, and very pleasant. Two espresso martinis made with Fever Tree mix so thinner than normal but still pleasant. Two mackerel pates. Full of fish and tasted great. Two lamb koftes. Bit of a problem as they turned up slathered in balsamic, which my wife hates. She refused to take the food. The waitress who brought it said ‘it tells you on the menu’. I checked. It doesn’t. I don’t like being lied to. Couldn’t help wondering why on earth you’d put an Italian dressing on a lamb kofte. Anyway, a fresh balsamic free version arrived within 10 minutes so all good....

What an amazing change. Not just the recent refurbishment which has made the whole place look bright and modern but the food was most excellent. We had not visited The Vine for a very long time and our last visits had not been good. So when looking for a place to take my elder mother in law for lunch we decided to give it another try. We went for the set lunch menus and the portions were not only more than ample but the food, including fish and chips alongside a chicken dish were excellent. Good portions, very hot, just cooked and really tasty. Thick pieces of fish and crunchy batter. My chicken breast was a good size and in a really tasty sauce.
