"Accidentally turned up here instead of The Vine in Barfield with our elderly mother. The proprietor Nicky was very accommodating and we were seated alone at the opposite end of the bar. Sadly the fire wasn’t working, so a little chilly for a 90 year old. The food whilst limited was very nice. We chose the roast beef. It would have stayed warmer though if the plates had been heated first. The mulled wine was warm and pleasant. Unable to make a cappuccino, their normal coffee was very nice. The crumble ordered for our mum was boiling hot. We returned it and asked that it be placed in a cooler bowl so could be eaten. The hand dryer in the ladies toilet was broken and no option for any hand towels or alternatives. Nicky tried her hardest to make our visit pleasant and went out of her way to make sure we got her back safely to our car on the busy road/path covered in snow. Just feel the whole pub was tired and in need of updating."

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good food with varied gluten free options. We had a very nice meal with good service and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.

Not as home made as thought Probably someone’s aunties Yorkies and roasts Veggies would be surprised if fresh Pastries needed some kind of flavouring Overall experience very poor

Looking for a place to have lunch before heading home from Hedingham Castle... Very nice little pub, good service and Roast Beef was amazing, big portion, vegetables fresh and tender meet. Highly recommended.

This charming neighborhood pub has a cozy atmosphere and recently underwent a fantastic renovation. The pub quiz is a hit with customers, and they offer reasonably priced drinks. Don't forget to say hello to Milo, the adorable pub dog! Ver carta

The service and staff are what truly stand out at this restaurant. The atmosphere is friendly and cosy, with locals being very welcoming. The food, to be honest, is just okay - average to slightly better. However, it is the exceptional service that elevates this pub from a 3-star to a 4-star experience.

We visited here with our friends on Sunday. We had heard that the Sunday roast was delicious so decided to give it a try. The service was very friendly and efficient. Two of our party had starters halloumi and Tempura King prawns) . Both of which were excellent. As for the roast it was everything We had been hoping for . Plenty of food and beautifully cooked. The price I feel was very reasonable. We will certainly be returning. Thank you .

This was our first trip to the Vine Inn. The food was good, although its a shame the specials board was bear which reduced our options but the service was excellent and friendly. Prices were also reasonable. The only reason I mark as a 4 is the venue itself could do with a bit of updating. It was a little sparce and there was little atmosphere. I would definitely go back with my husband but it's not somewhere I would take friends for a special evening out. Many thanks Ver carta

We checked the previous comments on the Inn before we booked. They seemed very complimentary. We booked. From the outside it didn’t look too bad. Inside it was dark, unwelcoming and cold. The menu was limited and if you didn’t particularly like a roast or vegetarian tart you could have been stuck. A burger was an option. I have to say three roasts later and my fellow guests weren’t impressed. The food was not I am sure homemade and seemed like Brakes bros food. You can see in the kitchen through a door in the corridor by the toilets. We won’t be going back. The only benefit was the waitress who was very nice and her colleague. Prices were good.

What a disappointment! My family and I went for a Sunday roast, but it definitely wasn't worth the £16.50 price tag. The medley of vegetables listed on the menu was lacking, with only a spoonful of carrots and some raw red cabbage that other diners were complaining about. I ordered cauliflower cheese as an extra, but it was mistakenly given to another table as a complimentary dish. When I asked where mine was, they were only just going to cook it, and I had wanted it with my roast. The portion of beef was small, the Yorkshire pudding undercooked, and to top it off, a glass of wine cost a steep £8. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place - even other diners were complaining about the same is...

"We came here on a last minute hunt to find a Sunday roast with family without much expectations. However when entering its a lovely set up and we were greeted by Lee and Alison who looked after us for the meal who just to begin were absolutely brilliant, they really care about the customers and make this place extra special. Now for the food you can get a 2 or 3 course meal so everybody made various selections but all had starters. Most went for the Aarancina which isn't your usual starter with a Sunday roast but for here it packs alot of flavour and is a great way to start the meal. They have a great selection of alcoholic beverages I went for a simple beer. For the main roasts we had a variety of meats I wanted the pork but sadly they had no crackling which was half the reason for ordering but if I am being honest after eating the meal it wasn't missed out the meat was tasty full of flavour but the sides were the key. The roast potatoes were of a top level usually when you eat out they are never as good as eating at home, the Yorkshire were huge and tasty, gravy brilliant with plenty to go around and lots of veg and cauliflower cheese on the side. Honestly this was excellent a really good roast probably the best I have ever ate in a resteraunt. Some of the others had the lamb shank which was huge and had great feedback but the beef was great and so was everything else. So yes check it out eat in and eat some great food in a nice setting with absolutely brilliant service you won't be disappointed."
