"Absolutely disappointed beyond belief. Why even bother opening and advertising that they do food? We really should have walked straight back out the door upon entering. But we had read reviews and really wanted to try this place. The staff were disinterested. Pointed to a table where we were to sit for our evening meal. We were given what can only be described as filthy sticky pieces of paper that were supposed to represent a menu. The table was dirty and sticky with drink stains. Nevertheless we proceeded to order 3 main meals. Over an hour later we still had no food and not once did anyone come over to the table to explain why. The place was by no means busy. There were 4 tables with customers! After approximately an hour and 10 minutes we asked if there was a time that we could expect our food to be ready. Bearing in mind our order was for baby back ribs, a steak burger and a chicken skewer. So not overly complicated. We were told that there was only 1 chef working!. And that the manageress would go and check for us. She returned to say that food would be ready in 5 minutes. Approximately 10 minutes later the baby ribs and steak burger arrived. We had to wait a further 5 minutes for the chicken skewer meal. When it did arrive the chicken was cold and absolutely cremated. So much so that the chicken itself had started to disintegrate and a powder of charcoal remains were on the plate. Absolutely disgusting and inedible. Our entire party left all the food and we went to the bar to pay and left. Disgusted, disappointed, disillusioned and would NEVER RETURN"

Date night with my husband, greeted by friendly staff. Very attentive and very friendly throughout our visit. Food was amazing and delicious! Will definitely be going back!

Completely by chance as passing through the village. Amazing and wonderful food, on a par with a NYC burger. Service superb…a complete gem and made even better by being so spontaneous and unexpected.

Had an excellent roast at this pub. The service was outstanding and the place had a great vibe. We were even able to order our roasts over the phone when we booked the table at midday even though we weren’t going to eat until 18.00. I can thoroughly recommend.

Ah we love this place! We specifically come back JUST FOR THE BEEF DRIP CHIPS!! And we come from Kent, so it's not a short journey : They are sublime, I dream about them :D Each time we come we have the best time, the food is perfect, the staff are lovely, can't be more helpful! And the pub itself is charming with a fantastic garden filled with flowers and wildlife. It's a special place for us, it has a special energy. We shall be back!! Thanks Team White Hart for creating such a welcoming space. Until next time!

Have eaten before and it's always been good, but recently we booked out their (very nice) conservatory/garden room for my parent's 50th wedding anniversary and it couldn't have gone better. The setting was really nice with access to the garden area. Buffet food and drinks were really good and both regularly topped up, we had a waitress taking drinks orders who was lovely all the staff couldn't have been more helpful. My parents had a wonderful, memorable afternoon thank you so much to the team! Would thoroughly recommend for people looking to book out a room for similar events.

We visited the white hart for a birthday after months of wanting to visit. We had been here on many occasions for drinks but because of the cost we decided to wait for a special occasion to visit. We booked a table on a Sunday, however on arrival it was very quiet. We asked if we could sit in the conservatory which was empty apart from one table. We were refused and told to sit at a table by the bar. Which is fine but only one other family arrived at the premises In nearly two hours and nobody else sat in the conservatory so we were a bit confused why we were refused here as others were eating.
