"This is one of our favourite pubs in a beautiful location. It’s a while since we have been here because the last couple of meals we have eaten were average and the menu hadn’t really changed. We had lunch today and I was a bit disappointed with the choices on the menu. I’m not a vegetarian but often choose the meat free option or fish when I eat out. The starter wasn’t an issue and there were several choices that appealed to me. I chose the parsnip soup, which was delicious, but found it a bit unusual that there wasn’t any butter for bread. The main course options were challenging for me. I can’t eat greasy food because of a health condition, so fish and chips was off the menu for me and the only other meat free option was veg chilli. That’s always a difficult one because you never know what level of spice it will have. I thought I would go for the sausage and mash (I only eat one sausage and take the others home) because the specials were only sandwiches. To be fair, the menu said sausage, mash and gravy, but I was still surprised when the bowl came out and there was absolutely no vegetable on the plate at all! The gravy was lukewarm and tasted like it was a packet mix not a lovely homemade sauce. The welcome wasn’t as warm as we are used to here. Such a shame and hoping we caught them on an off day."

Great pub with a lovely garden. The food was delicious and hot and the Yorkshire pudding the best ever. Very nice desserts to follow. Excellent customer service too.

Surprisingly quality food! Very interesting fusion of traditional English food with gentle touch of Asian food. Very original starters and excellent mix of tastes and spices.

Lovely location, super friendly staff and wonderful, genuine freshly cooked food. Loved it. Will certainly return. Have had many Sunday lunches in pubs and this was head and shoulders the best.

We went to this place following its appearance in The Times. It was every bit as good as the article indicated. This is a lovely pub in a charming village. The food was excellent; the staff are delightful. Well worth a visit.

I have been before (well over a year ago) and enjoyed both dinner, drinks outside and two fabulous Sunday lunches) but tonight the menu was a very limited fayre of traditional pub food. Settled with two very average burgers and frozen fries. Embarrassed as i had recommended the venue.

We visited twice when in holiday and both times we had a really good experience. We sampled the chicken fish and fish and chips on the first occasion and second time we both had the burgers. All our meals were freshly made, tasty and delicious. The staff were lovely as well. Thank you
