"Were meeting our daughter off the ferry on her birthday and decided to take her out for breakfast for a birthday treat. Checked trip advisor for reviews and this place looked great. I can only assume that the reviews have all been written by friends of the manager.After all the good reviews we 'd read, we were disappointed with the breakfast. AFTER we 'd ordered we were told there was no mushrooms and we 'd be given an extra instead, which turned out to be disappointing tinned tomatoes. Those that had the full breakfast were given one fried egg, whilst those on the light option were given two, which was clearly the wrong way round. The toilets were disgusting; the worst I have seen anywhere in many a year. As I was paying I was asked if everything was ok, and when I said about each of the above, she just said 'yes ' as if to say 'I know, but that 's the way it is ', no such thing as an apology."

I popped as I was working in the area an tried the double topped burger… absolutely amazing … best burger I’ve ever had!!!!!

I have been coming here once or twice a week to get my lunch the staff are so friendly and welcoming they remember the little thing that I get I would not go any where and sitting in is very cosy

One word dreadful. Two words Run down. Toilets poor, hand drying facilities, one dirty old hand towel. Apart from that the coffee was lovely. Review photos are many years old and badly out of date.

I have used the Wooden Deli 2-4 days a week since our office moved to North Shields in May and have never been dissapointed with anything I've bought, awesome sarnies and very reasonably priced, nice and friendly staff who are always happy to accomodate my fussy needs

Excellent choice of food items and very reasonably priced. I opted for the Man O'War in the absence of available Cajun chicken. It was very spicy so if you like a bit of heat I'd definitely recommend it. Staff were really friendly and the service was fast considering it was the lunch rush. Lots of regulars from what I could tell.

We were staying at the Premier Inn but decided not to take the breakfast offered there at £9.50 instead tried here after reading reviews. So glad we did. Massive Full Monty breakfast with large coffee for less than it would have cost at hotel. Friendly staff and fab food. We’ll be back on Monday just a pity they’re closed on a Sunday. Highly recommend.

I have been a customer at the Wooden Deli for a number of years and go on a regular basis. The staff are extremely friendly, laid back and aim to please customers. In my time coming to the deli I have got to know other customers who all enjoy the atmosphere and community spirit that this establishment provides. The food has always been nutricious, and very good value and in my experience always well prepared. The coffee IS SECOND TO NONE. This is evident in the amounts of folk who come to the deli for it.
