"Stayed here for 3 nights B&B with my partner (Val). A perfect location for exploring nearby places such as Bedale, Leyburn, Richmond, Northallerton, Thirsk and Ripon, which we did easily as the old A1 (now A6055) gets you everywhere quickly. We had a superior double which was a big room, clean and tidy. The welcome is good as are all of the staff who work there. Good selection of draught beers and lagers, good breakfast and the restaurant has a good selection of choice. A dog and child friendly place to visit and/or stay at. Quiet location despite the A1M being close but you don't even hear it. Ample car parking at the back. Highly recommended."

We discovered this place whilst camping nearby. We were made extremely welcome. It's (well behaved) dog friendly and serves fantastic food. They also provide a taxi service if you're staying local. What more do you need? Amazing service. Fantastic food. Highly recommended.

my wife and I came back after meeting in the juli last year friends there. like cyclists, decided to burn the 74 miles up. the reception was so her cyclist, there are 2 buses per day of doncaster. in our room, separated to pub, that was prefect n spacious, n well equipped with tee n coffee, hair dryer, iron, toilet articles n hand towels. the pub, meal times are excellent n the staff very attentive, without notice n very kind.

Thank you for making us so welcome. The food was lovely, the place was clean and the staff very friendly and accommodating. My little boy has multiple food allergies so eating out can often be stressful but here it was no problem and a lovely balanced meal was provided without any issues. I had the lamb which was beautifully cooked although reading the reviews giving high praise for the steak I wish I had chosen that! Will have to visit again

My husband and I came here for the very first time tonight. We’ve been at RAF Leeming since November and have heard about this pub. We absolutely loved it! The atmosphere was lovely, food was gorgeous and the customer service was excellent! All of the staff were lovely, warm and very friendly but I’d personally like to give a shout out to Georgia who welcomed us, shown us to our tables, took our drink order and within a couple of minutes we had our drinks. The service was excellent couldn’t fault it! We will definitely be back again (hopefully very soon)

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."
