"We visited yesterday (13/10) for lunch to celebrate my mother's birthday by adopting a colleague's recommendation, I am pleased to say that “The bluebell” is not disappointed. Great food with a wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere, also exceptional service from the staff. The whole food is homemade with Thomas and his kitchen team, producing delicious recipes that they have refined for the guests. We had salt and pepper to begin, this was so fresh the coating was light and tasty. Even at home baked bread and oil (you cannot go wrong with beautiful bread). Mom had the king's salad for main prawn and my daughter had ribbed steak both very fresh and the steak perfectly cooked. The outstanding court for me was mine, that was the cattle brisket Chili. It was so delicious and I was pleased that the cook was not afraid to use the right amount of heat. Thank you so much for coming back when we visit next. Michelle and family"

"My young daughter and her friend have just visited the Deck and spent over an hour awaiting their order. What should have been a pleasurable experience was in fact not so nice. They left having witnessed the adjacent table being reimbursed for their wait. Yet they waited longer to be served. They paid the bill without saying a word as embarrassed youngsters do (15 17 year olds) As teenagers I’m sure that you’ll agree that money is hard to earn and precious to them. But the service is also a key factor irrespective of age. Really disappointed that what was to have been a special treat, which they had saved up for, ended up being a long wait and more expensive than planned as they ended up buying extra drinks to fill in the time. No response from the deck when I emailed them to advise them our dissatisfaction!"

"What a lovely find! Typical olde worlde type of pub and one we had driven past many times. Whitebait to start and vegetable soup for my husband and, both delicious. Great choice on the menu and a good selection of 'specials ' (Italian and English) but we opted for the sausages. Sausage, eggs and THE best triple fried chips ever, and for me sausages, silky smooth mash and delicious caramelized onion gravy (properly made with stock basis). Great selection of sausages.big portions, take note! Add to this friendly attentive service and it 's a winner! Certainly will be back!"
