What an absolute joy. The service and the food was superb and the staff were wonderful especially Regan, so friendly and made us feel right at home. Excellent value for money

Great place after the walk in local wilderness. Wonderful and nicely documented history in the Inn about how the author of Cider with Rosie was a regular there. Nice to sit in or out.

Was not to busy given it was a Saturday 19 Nov 2022. Barman was pleasant courteous drinks were good(Carling and gin for my other half). Food was available if required. Lovely decor comfortable pub with character Ver carta

Called in 12.00. We had 3, light bite meals. The food was piping hot, tasty and very good value. New manager, Barry has a lovely, welcoming manner. This pub should be a lot more popular. Try it before the word gets around!

Called for a drink in the afternoon... Food was closed... Np... Called back early evening 19:54 food had again just closed like wtf do you actually have a chef? Booked into the local Italian that was no problem...... Good luck with your part time business, BTW it's always quiet when you are shut people #justsayin why is you tail wagging the dog?

Two couples had a fantastic lunch at this charming and well-managed pub. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The menu offered a wide variety of options, including light bites. I ordered the three sausages with mashed potatoes and peas, which were very tasty. The other members of our group also gave their meals a top rating. For dessert, I had the Crumble of the day with custard, a delicious homemade dish. Kudos to the staff for an excellent dining experience. Ver carta

I look after the social activities for an LGBTQ+ hiking group called Trek/Fit. With very little notice, the fabulous landlady Ange, was able to feed and serve over 35 LGBTQ+ people with good, hearty pub food which arrived hot, tasty and even arrived at exactly the same time. We were so impressed we even have a round of applause! Ange and her staff made us feel not only welcome, but valued and the Woolpack and count on us to always visit this historic inn every time we’re hiking in the area. Thanks so much for having is!

We decided to stop in for lunch today while shopping in Stonehouse, and we were very happy with our experience. The staff gave us a friendly and warm welcome, and the service at the bar was quick and easy. The menu had a nice variety of options, including a section of "small plates" that my husband was especially happy about. The specials board looked appealing as well. The food was cooked well and served promptly, with no problem when we requested extra sauces. There was also a good selection of desserts, including both classic options and specials. We will definitely be returning for another visit.

I ordered Fish and Chips and Chicken Salsa from this restaurant. The Fish and Chips were only available on the small plate menu, as they do not serve them on the main menu. When my Fish and Chips arrived, I was shocked at how small the portion was. I even asked the waitress if it was a child's portion. She said no, it's small because it's on the small plate menu and cost £8.95. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told that they do not set the prices or portion sizes and that it's hard to get fish. However, I have been to chip shops where they serve decent portions at a reasonable price. I asked for my feedback to be passed on to the manager, but was informed that she already knows. It...
