"We chose the Thin White Duke after Deb had checked places suitable for her diet. The place had quite eclectic decor but service was friendly and there were some nice choices. We both opted for sea bass which was a mistake as from our portion sizes there was probably only enough for one serving. It was nicely cooked and presented though and the dessert (a thick chocolate mousse with sorbet and caramel sauce) plus the cocktails redeemed the evening."

I found this place by chance on the way through carlisle. I'll be back here. we're pretty close to the closing time for the kitchen, but they are.

sometimes you go into a place and you know that it's right. so it is at the thin white duke, a converted monastery, whose name a doff of the cap to mr.

This restaurant is absolutely stunning. The burger, tiramisu, and sticky toffee pudding were all delicious. The atmosphere is fabulous and the service is excellent - very friendly. We will definitely be returning!

I had a delicious Sunday afternoon meal, but the 1 bratkartoffel and yorkshire pudding were quite small, especially for the price of 15 pounds each. It was too expensive considering a taxi ride to Toby Carvery would have been cheaper and more filling.

I had a great lunch at this restaurant! The staff was very attentive, especially when it came to accommodating my food allergies. They even let me know which dishes my partner ordered contained allergens and offered to leave them out so we could share. It was the best experience with handling my allergies that I've ever had at a restaurant.
