"After almost five years, we decided to visit this restaurant while in town for lunch on a busy Saturday. Despite all the tables being occupied and the staff being busy, they efficiently took our order at the bar. We were informed that all dishes were cooked to order, so we expected a wait. However, our food arrived promptly within 15 minutes and was beautifully presented. I enjoyed the prawns in Marie-rose sandwich, while my partner had the tuna, both served in fresh bread with French fries and salad. Our friends who dine here regularly recommended it to us, and our experience seemed to be the standard, and an improvement from our last visit in 2018."

Staff were bored, didn't want to be there. Facilities were minimal. The price per head was horrendous. Not going to support this place any more.

Lovely overnight stay, as always. Room was spacious and a lovely big bed. We have stayed many times before and the staff are very helpful and friendly. Great location too!

The meals and service are great but dogs are only allowed in the bar area (which is fine) BUT you can’t book a table not even the table for 12 so we had to arrive 3/4 hour early to get this table for our party of 12 plus 4 dogs! Ver carta

The restaurant offers average cooking and small portions for the price. Unfortunately, a fly landed on my curry. The establishment has potential to improve, especially with portion sizes and addressing the issue of flies inside. Overall, it is a nice place but could benefit from some changes.

We ate there on 16th December. but in the restaurant there was no atmosphere at all. None of the three courses we had were at all special. The vegetables were either rock hard, especially the sprouts (with soggy outsides) these could not possibly have been fresh. For the price paid this is definitely not acceptable.

My wife and I have a tradition of going for coffee and cake every Thursday during our weekly shopping trip in Harborough. This week, we decided to try out the Three Swans cafe. Unfortunately, the coffee (£3.60) was not to our liking and the fruit scone was stale with a hard, cardboard-like bottom. For better value and a tasty bite to eat in Market Harborough, we recommend the Waitrose cafe. Ver carta

A most pleasurable and interesting stay at a little piece of historic comfort. ! The slogan was “your comfort is our passion” A little dubious at first I quickly realised this is indeed the managements quest. Beautifully clean and well appointed rooms. Spaciously laid out well with all comforts. Only regret was I didn’t make it a two night stay! Just one small thing to note: The town church bells ring every quarter through the night! A big thank you to all.

Awful! Arrived … had to clean our own table ! The lager was flat and £6 a pint ! Unfriendly bar staff … verging upon rude . Ordered burgers was charged £2 service without knowing !!! A service charge to clean our own table and go to the bar to order food ! What am I paying for.? The staff huff and puff throughout and have a very brusque manner. The burger was horrendous. McDonalds serves better ! The burger was burned and shrivelled there was no salad garish. Very basic. A very disappointing experience… won’t be going again and would definitely not recommend.

"I visited my daughter and son-in-law last week and on my request they had booked a table for us on black horse on Saturday night at 1 o'clock. we arrived shortly before the pm and all four of us stood in the bar where two were served. it wasn't busy. no one told us anything until the bar was clear and then one of the ladies looked at me and I said we booked a table in my name of my daughter and she saw the bookings and said oh yes, we had table assigned and pointed into another room. there was no greeting no smiling, so we met our way to the table and sat there. there were no menus on the table, so I stood up to find some and someone only made their way from the other room in the direction of our table. we ordered drinks that were in themselves a task, as they had no free or dietary limmonade, so I had to go to the end for a gin with slimline tonic. then we ordered four different meal times. I ordered a vegetarian curry in naanbrot and when it finally came, I was so disappointed because the naanbrot was burned and the curry was cold on the outside, so I asked them to take it back. the waitress asked if I wanted to order something else and I went back. my daughter then shared some of her meals with me, who were chicken pupils. they were coated in a teig that was extremely fat. the menu does not seem to come out of any meal with fresh vegetables, everything seemed to come with chips and draughts, even the Steak-Mahl came only with chips and draughts, no mushrooms, tomatoes, wobble rings or something. I wasn't impressed. for a pub that wants good reviews, I think they have lost the property. the customer service is everything and fresh vegetables is essential. I'm sorry to be the bearer worse, but we won't come back."
