I had a wonderful dinner tonight with excellent service from Carys. She was friendly, efficient, and attentive despite the busy atmosphere. Thank you!

Visited today (mother's day) Booked online as I knew it would be busy, got sat straight down and our server, Dale, was amazing. His service alone made our evening, kept checking in on us and had great banter which was more than welcome

And another super meal tonight at served up at the Wakefield the home of the roast, presented by Cairns and his friendly team... He has the crispness Yorkshires roast potatoes this side of Wakefield... and the meat done to a turn... Thank you.. Ver carta

Regular customer here, foods good but check your receipts. Twice I’ve been here now and charged more than it should have been. Went in for lunch, the two of us, went to bar to pay our bill and after I’d already tapped my card I seen I’d been charged for 4 carvery’s in stead of 2. When challenged “Serrena” told the gentleman “to wait I’m still on phone” not service you expect for the restaurants mistake.

We used to visit this Toby restaurant twice a week on average, but our most recent visit will be our last. The server's attitude towards cutting the meat was unacceptable. Additionally, we did not appreciate the comment made by the server about my wife's vegetarian meal. The assistant manager just stood there and did not intervene when we expressed our dissatisfaction. After being told to go somewhere else if we didn't like it, we decided to leave, as pensioners we choose where to spend our money, and it will not be at any Toby restaurant.

4 Star hygiene rating on the door. Meat looked okay. Opted for the beef and gammon. I was chewing through the beef only to find 6 inches of string. The veg was fine. As was the gravy. The cauliflower cheese was too raw for me and too much stalk. Roast potatoes bang on though Compliments to the microwave for the pudding though I love a dry chocolate cake. I recall a previous review of this place. Last attending in 2022. I wouldn't return. It'll be a while before I consider it. I think the time has passed for carvery dinner restaurants. Certainly has in my opinion. Overall a mixed bag. Wouldn't recommend. Ver carta

We were welcomed by a very anxious staff member at the restaurant. We had £6 voucher offers that we used when we paid for our food and drinks at the bar. Upon reaching the carvery, we were disheartened to see a swarm of flies hovering around the food, posing a health risk. Adding to our disappointment, the manager disclosed that the flies were coming from the recycling center across the road. We left after consuming only half of our drinks. Our online vouchers had been used, so we couldn't use them elsewhere, and we were charged for half of our drinks, which was unfair. Overall, we were thoroughly let down by the experience.

Just the 2 of us booked to go for tea at 7.30pm last week with the offer on of a carvery for £6pp. We arrived for our booking to be told there was only pork left. We queued straight away and by the time we'd got to the front there was no meal left at all! We were given a bowl of pigs in blankets as a substitute! The meat chef was embarrassed and said it was because the Manager had let loads of walk-ins in at dinnertime. What a shambles! A carvery with no meat! Whose responsible for ordering the meat, surely that's the chef? Why on earth didn't someone go out at dinnertime and get more meat to roast? There are plenty of butchers in Wakefield so no excuse. They were fully booked online til 9pm...

Just attempted to go to wakefield Toby carvery. Upon arrival the car park was very unkept, with shrubs overhanging the parking bays. Outside the main door, the two raised flower beds housed piles of cigarette butt's, with more on the floor. I should have took that as a warning, the general upkeep of the exterior was dismal. Upon entering the building we soon realised that the appearance was no better. We were squeezed onto a cramped table. The interior furniture and soft furnishings are in desperate need of reupholstering and refurbishment.
