"I popped in for a drink. It was a Monday evening and very quiet. There were perhaps two or three other small groups in the place. You could hear yourself think. This is a traditional Yorkshire pub serving Timothy Taylor's beers. There is a good range of 5 or 6 of these: Landlord, Bolt Maker, a blonde beer a dark mild and a couple of others all on cask and although I can't vouch for all of them, the two I tried (Landlord and Bolt Maker) were very well kept. In addition there was a pump serving keg beers, at least one of which was a continental lager. The toilets were clean and there was a wide-door facility for wheelchair users. In days gone by I have eaten a very nice lunch in the place, but I didn't try food this time. I'd say this is a pub for the more mature drinker. It isn't trendy in any way and although there's music, it stays very much in the background so there's no need to shout. It's light and airy, but there are sufficient nooks and corners for those of a conspiratorial bent. In a word, nice."
