"Da Maria is an ambience-free hole in the wall that 's open only for lunch. For 12 euros (10 for the food, 2 as a cover charge) you get a 3 course meal plus a beverage. I started with a bowl of Genovese minestrone which was delicious and decidedly not yo momma 's minestrone (assuming, of course, that yo momma hailed from southern Italy where minestrone doesn 't come in green). My wife started with a plate of penne in a totally acceptable tomato sauce. I chose a beef stew as my main while my wife went for the chicken cacciatore. I 'd recommend either of these without hesitation. Both were very, very good. Da Maria is not an Italian restaurant in the sense that its food transports you to Italy. Rather it is a place to get a tasty, well-prepared meal served by a friendly and attentive waitstaff at a bargain-basement price."

This place is a jewel in Genova, the food was amazing and the staff was incredibly nice and a must welcome if you want to have a proper pesto cool

Non è più la Maria di una volta la qualità è comunque buona prezzi modici trovi sempre in una zona centrale DE ZENA dov'è impossibile parcheggiare!!!

La definirei una trattoria per pranzo di lavoro, economica, discreta, locali non proprio belli e bagno quasi inaccessibile ma comunque va bene anche per turisti di passaggio

Talk about a genoa secret. Apparently only open on Thursday and Friday. Hand written menu, that was easy, but delicious. Very traditional Genoa food. They sell wine with size .5 and liter. We were the only foreigners there.

The sweetest sisters on the planet creating true homemade food out of the tiniest of kitchens. The cheeses in the area are outstanding, and the Calabrese love their veggies and so do I. No meal is complete without meats so that was a given. We begged off pasta only because we were going to explode but next time, and there will be a next time I want pasta! Location caratteristica, molto casalinga. Ci vuole però un tocco di classe e colore in più. Il bagno da rivedere, non adatto a una clientela. Menù semplice, legato alla tradizione, purtroppo il pesto non era ben legato e la pasta risultava un po' fredda, mentre il secondo e il dolce hanno colmato le mancanze precedenti. Servizio gentile, familiare, rispettoso e premuroso. Conto economico. Nel complesso da controllare alcuni aspetti, per avere maggiori successi.
