"We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant, thanks to Rick Steves' book. Having read a negative review I thought I should write this immediately. Yes, the server tells you the menu, just as Rick Steves says they will. NOT a problem. If we had a question we asked. We don't speak Italian and he server was patient with us. Everything was delicious, and we asked to split the pasta dish so they gave us two bowls with pasta. Moving on to the meat dishes we were very, very happy. The restaurant itself is so nice: small, and kind of like family. We would go back if we were here longer."

Trattoria tipica, atmosfera accogliente e personale cortese. Primi piatti squisiti, consigliati i cantucci con vin santo come dolce. Veramente ottimi.

It’s just so rare to find good home cooking near a highly touristed area. Nothing fancy, just good homemade food. Get a carafe or house Chianti, eat the gnocchi bolognese, Osso Buco, pici and ravioli with truffle sauce.

Ristorante caratteristico ubicato proprio sotto la torre del Mangia! Pasta fatta in casa al momento (abbiamo preso pici cacio e pepe e con sugo di cinghiali) Davvero ottimi! La Fiorentina e l’osso buco meritavano davvero! Squisiti!

Vicino alla torre di piazza del palio, è una trattoria rustica fai veri sapori toscani. Prenotate, vede lo consiglio. Un'esperienza favolosa. Pici rigorosamente fatti al momento col cinghiale. Oserei dire la morte sua Prezzi belle norma.

La vera trattoria, senza tanti fronzoli, ma una cucina da leccarsi i baffi, quello che c'è è c'è, posto fantastico, in centro all ombra della torre del Mangia, personale gentile e simpatico, i pici fatti in casa favolosi, e la fiorentina... Beh da leccarsi le dita

Siamo stati a pranzo oggi. bella esperienza. abbiamo mangiato la pasta fatta in casa qualche minuto prima. con un bravo ragazzo. Squisito. posto accogliente. personale disponibile e cordiale. ottima posizione. 2 passi dalla piazza del campo. prezzi nella norma. Lo consiglio vivamente. Congratulazioni.

Trattoria subito dietro in piazza del campo , posto piccolo ma caratteristico, la cucina è proprio davanti ai tavoli, così da vedere che fanno tutto al momento, come passare la pasta fresca nell impastatrice che crea I pici o altri tipi di pasta. I pici al ragù di cinghiale è fantastico. Il conto abbiamo preso 3 pici al cinghiale, acqua, contorno di zucchine al sugo e la pasta di mandorla euro 58,00

We were in Siena at lunchtime. There were a lot of restaurants in the main square. We saw tables down a street next to the main square. The restaurant was small with a dedicated cook who seemed to do everything. The menu was classic rustic we opted to have roast pheasant and duck which we had with spinach. Perhaps too much for lunch but amazing and we walked it off later. The first course was a mix of Tuscany cold cuts.

"Mugolone is a wonderful “white tablecloth” experience, but without any pretension or preconceptions. The welcome is warm, the service both professional and personal, and the buona notte leaves you feeling like you visited the most elegant member of your family. Luca, the sommelier, is especially wonderful for those of us with limited Italian. The food was delicious, well prepared and of the region, and the portions are generous. Don’t miss the chicken liver starter with figs, which is a refined version of a regional staple. The poached egg leek soup was inspired. The homemade pastas are incredible, and the risotto… well, you should try it. The white truffle menu is exceptional, and we enjoyed the tagliolini on two occasions. They will shave the gorgeous local truffle until you say stop, and you pay by weight. The fish was delicate, paired beautifully with chicory and celery for texture and a touch of bitterness. Don’t forget dessert— the wine poached pears are incredible and the cheesecake is over the top indulgent. Luca will suggest appropriate wine pairings and can keep to your budget. The list is fairly extensive, especially for those of us unfamiliar with Italian wines, and he made it easy without judgment. He also introduced me to a delicious amaro that satisfied my after dinner craving for bitter, as my family had sweet. We enjoyed our experience so much a couple days ago that we went back again for our last meal before we left Siena. And we’re already looking forward to our next visit"

"the place is of modest size but very well maintained and welcoming. round tables welcome up to 5 seats on comfortable chairs and red leather. is a good-level local but at the same time within reach of anyone. is perfect for a romantic evening as for a dinner for work or family or among a few friends. there are also some 2-seat outdoor tables. the menu is very wide and ranges from fish to meat. raw material is excellent and professionally treated. the dishes to the view are rich, beautiful and extremely appetizing how exceptional on the palate, I for personal health problems I can not eat more than one size and reduced but in this case it was all so good and perfect that I ate with immense satisfaction three different dishes, with final dessert and I returned home full but satisfied and especially the day after I was fine and I almost wanted to return. the owner enzo not only is a great chef but together with sonia his wife, chief room and waitress are impeccable guests, make you feel like kings at home, with their professionalism, courtesy education and friendliness. In short, for anyone who wants to spend an evening in tranquility savoring amazing dishes this is the ideal place. P.S.I forgot the price quality ratio is great and I'm also reductive, it's certainly not a trattoria but a restaurant of a certain level but despite this the prices are for all the cost of the dishes I photographed are almost all around 19€ each and they are all worth them.
