"Everyone mourned to the old town forest house in Mettmann when he had to sneak after a long tradition. There were various rumors and stories about the reasons. Then the bureaucracy made problems and so was the beautiful house in Sleeping Beauty for years. On 14 June 2017, the town forest house was reopened after four years of interruption as a restaurant, café with a large beer garden. And it has become beautiful. Completely renovated. Interior beautiful wooden tables and a pleasant environment. It's Friday and we've reserved. That's good, because with time the place felt like watching. The service was very fast, maybe a bit too fast, because we hardly had a place we were asked for drinks. We have suggested that we have time and want to enjoy the evening in peace without hectic, then everything was fine. The map is clear and offers something for every taste. So we chose the stone mushroom Consommé with spring onions (EUR 5,90) and the Cocos Curry soup with chicken strips also on EUR 5,90. Both soups convinced. The curry soup was delicious and had a good note of pepper next to the curry. The deposits were sufficient. "Ok, this is really off the beat and track and I was introduced to this restaurant by acquaintances. It's what I call a typical German bistro and the great thing about it is what you see is what you get. We started with a salad which is part of your dish followed by a fabulous jäegerschnitzel. Cooked to perfection! As I still had room for another dish, I decided on an Argentinian rump steak with mushroom sauce and French fries, pretty much the same as dish number one. That was really good too. All in all, a great experience and good quality for money"

"I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. Excellent and lovingly prepared food that is always prepared quickly. The hostess is always open for nice conversations and very dedicated to the guests. The outdoor area is very cozy for a relaxed beer or food. Look forward to many more visits that will come!"
