"we stumbled on this place, visit the small village pigna. the place is located on a hill, view over the calvi area bay. the view is fantastic and the garden is beautiful and cozy with plenty of shade. even if it is not a busy season, we had to wait a few minutes to sit, I guess people like the place; we ordered the tapas plate, but left the two meat options. we are a vegetarian family, so the waitress offered to add a black olive grove (which was not on the menu). we had an eggplant caviar, hummus and black olive grove (vean and red pfeffer tapenade with yogurt, goat cheese with Figue jam and local cheese. together with olive and brot. yes, it is simple, but it was also really tasteful, and to travel through an island where to find something else for lunch (except pizza or pasta is not always easy to stumble this was a very pleasant place. updated by previous review on 2021 07 14"

"Imbarazzante ... in un luogo cosi bello e pieno di fascino basta poco per renderlo emozionante...il tutto è privo di impegno e di amore. nn una candela il contorno del ristorante sporco e maltenuto se togliamo la vista nn rimane nulla ...per nn parlare della cucina sinceramente scandalosa i primi piatti fatti prima e scaldati al micronde la cote de beauf nn era male e cotta abbastanza bene (al sangue) come richiesto ma presentata con una rondella di zucchina e una di melanzana tremende...patate arrosto tre dico tre patate scaldate al micronde anche queste...manca un responsabile di sala un punto di riferimento che se c e nessuno si è accorto chi sia...il mio camerire è stato gentile ma sinceramente nn basta...una cucina che in posto cosi bello andrebbe chiusa per sempre..."

"The restaurant La vieille gare is truly a gem. The combination of the historic train station ambience and the excellent Italian cuisine makes this restaurant a real insider tip. The prices are extremely attractive, especially considering the quality of the food. Every dish I tried was impeccably prepared and had an authentic taste. Another highlight are the breathtaking sunsets that you can enjoy from here. The restaurant offers the perfect setting to end the evening with a glass of wine and a delicious meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the overall experience even more enjoyable. I can only warmly recommend “La vieille gare” and am already looking forward to my next visit!"
