Urban Orient - Carta

We ordered the tofu curry and mock duck, and both dishes were exceptionally delicious.

Urban Orient doesn't have a wide selection of vegan dishes, but I decided to try the mock duck with rice and sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was! While I don't typically eat mock meats, I found this dish to be very enjoyable and would definitely return just for this particular item.

My partner and I went to this place on a date last night. To start with the place was crowded and very noisy, which made it even difficult to have a conversation. The food arrived very quickly and I was suspicious but didn t think...much of it. not even that cheap. I have been in pain all night with food poisoning. Yaik! Never again! Ver carta

Very very disappointing. Stodgy bland and flavourless. Battered fish was almost entirely without fish. The rice was stodgy and flavourless and the (usually delicious with toasted peanut favours) salad bits had no interest shredded iceberg soggy cucumber sticks only. Shredded carrot ok. Phone...but just offered off next order. Not happy as really not edible at all.

Went for a quick bit to eat as we couldn’t be bother to cook Sunday dinner. Firstly I’d like to say I have been to Vietnam before and love the country. The food at urban orient was beautiful. Full of flavour and freshly cooked. Even...the homemade lemonade and lime and ginger drinks were amazing. Staff are lovely and the young man who served us was brilliant. Definitely are new regular.

After reading the previous reviews, I decided to try the vegan duck with peanut sauce at this restaurant. I was not let down. There were multiple vegan options available on the menu, so if the duck is not your preference, there are other choices to choose from. However, the vegan duck was delicious and reasonably priced at £11.50 for a sit-down restaurant. The staff were also friendly and accommodating. Ver carta

Good food. Service very average. Slightly overpriced. Waited for pepper squid an came before my main. Cash only is an absolute no-no, especially in these times but it's what they only accept. What if you don't have a card on you at all and...only use phone? Not clearly displayed outside. Was very full as not many good food options' in Crystal Palace and has been here a while. Do think competition will make a difference.

As suggested by others, I ordered the mock duck and wasn't disappointed! The duck is soft, fatty and melts in the mouth accompanied by a mouth watering marinade. It was so realistic I had a mini freak out thinking they had given me the real thing! We also had the tofu soup which was fantastic a really clean, warming base with enough veg and chilli to fight off all the winter cold outside! Spring rolls were really yummy too the only let down was the veg dumplings which weren't steamed enough and were a little hard. It's a cosy little place with a great interior and wide selection of drinks. We will definitely head back to try the tofu curry and the summer rolls!

We booked a table ate here on Friday night. The food was amazing the service was impeccable. The waitresses were very attentive the food arrived swiftly. We had would recommend the Summer rolls with prawn salt pepper squid for...starters, then the Bun Nem Chay a Com curry with king prawns for main. The portions were pretty generous so we shared everything our bill was exceptionally good value, total around for starters mains, beer a mixed juice. They sell wine by the glass for around or offer a BYO with a corkage to pay. We only discovered Vietnamese food last year had struggled so far to find somewhere really good local to Forest Hill so we are very happy to have stumbled across this little... Ver carta
