Victoria Carvery Steak Grill

Nice little hotel. Rooms are quite and face back to the building onto the nice garden. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good valued breakfast and tasty food. City center just a 15 min stroll away.

We come here specifically for the carvery. Whenever my 9-year-old granddaughter visits, she always requests to dine here. The meat is cooked perfectly and there is plenty of it. I must also mention that the apple pie and custard are delicious.

Have stayed at this hotel many times , the latest this weekend. Always a great place to stay. Clean, staff friendly and always willing to help, meals good especially the breakfast. Bonus plenty of parking and close to the centre of Canterbury and also a great base to visit the area. Ver carta

As a solo female traveler on a work trip, I was warmly welcomed at this restaurant. I enjoyed the carvery meal, which was served with a smile and friendly conversation. I liked it so much that I already rebooked for my next visit. The hotel offers great value and is conveniently located within walking distance to the city center.

Excellent service, prices. Lovely clean interior, plenty of seating, wheelchair /disable friendly. Really enjoyed our first visit just two small pointers. The chicken on our burgers was dry from a tad overcooking and the wait time for our meals was about 35 minutes, apart from these two minor things we will visit again. Would recommend for larger parties too.

Unfortunately, myself and my Dad were unable to stay here due to testing positive for Covid a day before we were due to travel. My cancellation fee was £99 but after contacting the hotel, a very kind and understanding man called Tony cancelled the booking with no fee attached. Customer service exceptional. We didn't stay in the hotel but came to the restaurant on a Sunday lunch time we had the carvery which was lovely the meats all looked delicious and there was plenty of choice of vegetables. The only negative was the waitresses seemed a little stressed at times with one shouting across to another you can't sit them there as she was showing a family to a table who she had promised to someone else. On saying that we have ate there several times before and an excellent choice on menu and will be going back

Avoid this hotel if you use a hotel booking site for the Victoria Hotel reneges on free cancellation. We had this hotel booked for nine months with a hotel booking site to find our booking had broken the hotel rules with our party's free cancellation booking. With only a month until our stay, we received an extremely rude message sent through the booking site stating we must pay the money owed for the accommodation now. And without any refund, if we cancel. We booked this hotel in good faith impressed by the good reviews this hotel received. Good value for money, as exactly one mile easy walk into centre of Canterbury. We had a lovely cooked breakfast, with good selection for continental style eating too. The eating/carvery area is very well presented with nice staff. Nice bar area too for a nice sit down quiet drink in the evening. The downside for me was the rooms were tired and in desperate need of some TLC. Carpet threadbare in places, single pane windows dripping in condensation, main spot lights in room didn't work, insane amount of dust to bathroom extractor and the bathroom just felt old and beaten up a bit.
