"The Cedar Manor Hotel is a hidden gem in the heart oof the Lake District. The historic building with it's huge Cedar Tree watching over the decades is perfectly located to offer quiet away from the main towns but close enough to walk into Windermere for some touristy action. The rooms are beautifully decorated and contain everything you need along with some great touches. Jonathan and Caroline run the hotel with efficiency and friendliness not often seen in boutique establishments like this. The staff are excellent all round, the hotel delivers food to rival any hotel, and the place is spotless. We have been going for years and it's hard to look anywhere else when we visit the Lakes. It's a quiet hotel, perfect for couples. We will continue to frequent as often as we can."

"Pasé dos noches recientemente en el Hotel Beech Hill y comí en las dos noches de Burlington. Todo lo que puedo decir es absolutamente increíble. El restaurante en sí está perfectamente ubicado, aunque estaba en la primera noche un poco frío, sin embargo, tan pronto como lo mencionamos, uno de los camareros encendió el radiador de al lado, con la calefacción ordenada. La comida es sin duda una de las mejores que hemos comido, en todo este país y en el extranjero, incluso tuvimos la suerte de tener una comida hecha por James Martin para nosotros y honestamente puedo decir que la comida aquí era mejor. La primera noche tuvimos al jefe de cocina y la segunda noche fue el segundo que resultó ser el esposo de Karolina del hotel. Una verdadera mezcla de comida de mejilla de cerdo glaseada, cordero, pollo Mackeral, pollo, todo perfectamente presentado y cocinado. Los postres también fueron para morirse y nunca he tenido Creme Br l e tan bueno en ningún lugar del mundo. El servicio del personal fue impecable. Simplemente no nos podemos quejar de nada y ya estamos deseando volver. 5 estrellas de nosotros todo el día!"

"We had booked a table for 4 at San Pietro tonight for 6.30pm. As we walked in they had given our table to some regulars. They asked us to wait outside in the cold with two children. I asked how long, and was told it would be half an hour. We said we would come back if our table would be ready. When we came back they looked surprised and tried to make a makeshift table for 4 right by the front door in front of the bar. This table was clearly not suitable with the main door opening right upon our ‘makeshift’ set up. When I asked what had happened to our table, the waiter mumbled something inaudible. I would have had more respect for the staff, if they had just apologised from the start and explained that they had given our table away to some regular diners, meaning we could have fed our children earlier at a more considerate establishment. At no time did any staff apologise to us, for giving our table away. Avoid this place at all cost. We did go to Tapios Tapas the first night in Windermere and the food was great and so was the service and very reasonably priced. We went to Hooked Seafood on the second night and the food was amazing. The soft shell crab starter and sea bass main with a nice bottle of Picpoul de Pinet were superb. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. You should go to either of them before San Pietro."

"excellent restaurant in the complex (and part of) the gilpin hotel. the location is beautiful, and the restaurant is very well furnished and furnished, with the dining room experience. the staff is helpful and attentive and eating is absolutely delicious. my wife and I had the Sharing menu, two starter dishes ( chickenskewers, and king prawn skewers,) followed by the chicken tandoori with rice, and clams and garnel curry,) all dishes were very tasty, and there are many choices from mild to hot, so something for all. I'm sorry to say that there are no pictures"

"We visited between Christmas and New Year on a lunchtime after a walk with our 3 dogs. The pub was pretty busy but we found a table that was in a corner so out the way of other people tripping over our four legged friends....However after a bit we were asked to move to a smaller table right in a corridor because the lady said they needed the table of 6 for bigger parties. It was difficult to cram us all round this and out the way of everyone but we persevered. We ordered food (2 starters and some chips) and after waiting about 25 minutes chased a waitress to find out where it was and were told it would be 5 minutes. In the meantime people who came in after us were getting served main courses. We waited another 20 mins and then got up to ask for a refund as we genuinely had an appointment to get to. The food was actually ready as we got up to leave so we ate it. The food was distinctly average and we left feeling hard done by and not wanting to return. It’s a shame as it’s a nice looking pub in a good location."
