"An extremely overpriced menu. Three of us went for Sunday lunch at £15 for 3 courses. The starters were self serve and sat on the side... some looked dried up and inedible. Nothing was labelled so you had to guess what everything was. Most were salad in a small jar or compote or smoothie?? We had to ask for fresh bread and more soup, which was in a thermos jug. The main course was mediocre. And there wasn't any choice for dessert. It was a compote or muffin or Danish pastry??? Which had all been sat on the side with the starters. The service was awful. No cutlery laid on the table, even though we had booked and reserved. We had to wait for long periods to have our plates removed and we had to ask to have our mains taken away after about half an hour of just sitting there. We will not be returning!!! Terrible."

Not what I expected from seeing photos on the website. Very basic pub type dining and very limited menu.

The only issue I had was the long wait at the bar, over 5 minutes. It seemed like they needed more staff because the ones there seemed more focused on washing glasses than attending to customers. Ver carta

The only thing that let it down was how long it took to get served at the bar, over 5 mins.. I think you need more bar staff the 1’s who were there were more concerned about washing the glasses rather than serving customers

Very expensive food for quality. We had Sunday dinner. Starters were nothing special. The 'Greek salad had no Greek cheese? The main course was beautiful and well presented. But the desserts were shocking! Apparently about breakfast items you would never choose to eat on Sunday noon for dessert. Coissants, Granola yogurt, Pain au chocolate muffins

Annual Family Christmas meal just after Xmas, waited ages for the food, then have it come out at different times. I ate my meal 45mins after the first person did. We did get a free drink as compensation but that was after I complained about it all. Would have preferred someone to come an offer this with an apology without me moaning. The food wasn’t bad but definitely not worth the prices. Shame the standards have gone down. Will be finding somewhere else next year.

"This was our first visit. I have to remind myself that this is a training environment for students but there should be someone in charge, who is identifiable to direct the students on how to present a menu and how to place a dish in front of customers. However, four courses for £35, amuse bouche counted for one course. Amouse bouche lacked any seasoning, orzo starter, well cooked but again lacked seasoning. My wife had fish, Coley, which was nice. I had chicken breast on a bed of curry sauce with hassleback potatoes. My whole dish was luke warm at best, the curry sauce was overpowering, and the hassleback potatoes were not crispy. The chicken was lovely and moist and I ordered a side of triple cooked chips which were super hot, expensive at £4, I only wish the rest of my dish was that hot. I had cheese and biscuits which consisted of Brie, blue cheese and cheddar together with chutney. My wife had Pain Perdue which was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is more like a cafe, not cosy, so don't choose it if you want a romantic evening. Overall would I go again? probably not. If you are ever near the Lake district try to book a table in the restaurant at Kendal College. On a final note; there is parking on an evening next to the college. Drive up to the barrier and press the call button, security will let you in. The barrier opens automatically on exit."
