"Popped in last night. 2 x 9” pizzas, 2 x spaghetti meatballs, 2 garlic breads , 1 lager and 3 soft drinks came to £90!! Service charge automatically added for a party of 4 which isn’t explained on the menu. We don’t object to tips but the service food was not worth an extra 10%. Parmesan cheese charged at £1.00 per person, I kid you not spaghetti meatballs was £14.95 and you’re still charged for Parmesan. It wasn’t even freshly grated Parmesan too but the cheap pre grated stuff. Again this charge was not explained on the menu or the staff. Final bill prices for pizza were £2 more than the menu price! Bill was £14 more than expected: £8 for service, £2 for cheese and £4 for pizzas which really isn’t acceptable nowadays. We paid it though as there seemed no point in arguing. Wouldn’t say don’t eat there, we had kids who just wanted pasta pizza so our options were limited. Would advise everyone to walk down the Avenue first to look at alternatives and be aware of pricing before going here."

Excellent pasta and risotto mains, ice cream and soft drinks. Pleasant surroundings, good service. Would recommend.

Very disappointed. The plates were cold, not a good start. I ordered a pasta dish with tomato sauce. The sauce was ridiculously thick and strong almost as if it was a whole tube of tomato puree squeezed on the plate. It looked a mess and the only colour on the plate was red. It was virtually inedible.

Arrived at the so called restaurant at 20.50pm asked for a table and one the female staff said they are now not serving food or drink because they close at 10pm , feeling puzzled we walked out only for another couple who were sitting near the door commented your not missing much , the food and service are terrible.observing the restaurant from across the road, doors closed lights off before 21.45.

We had a wonderful meal here, everything was cooked and made fresh. We had the hot and spicy chicken wing and I had the penne with king prawns which was the perfect amount of pasta and prawns. My husband had the hosin duck stuffed crust pizza, his words were it the best pizza he has every tasted. We are had a side of onion rings which were delicious. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent

This restaurant in Minehead is friendly, casual, and serves generous portions with vegan options available (including vegan cheese for all pizzas). We make a point to eat here every time we visit Minehead and it never fails to impress. The pizzas, pasta, and burger dishes are all delicious and well-prepared. The service is efficient and we have never had to make a reservation, although we usually dine early around 7 pm.

We dined al fresco at this restaurant and the staff were exceptional. They made us feel welcome and even gave our dogs a treat and water. The food was delicious, although we were a bit confused when the bill was higher than expected due to a menu change that we were not informed about. Despite this, we left a tip as we were pleased with the service. However, upon returning to our accommodation, we discovered that a 10% service charge had already been added to the bill without our knowledge.

Best pizza we have had for ages and we eat italian style food a lot. Really friendly staff, an amazingly long list of choices both toppings and size. Food was delicious, hot and came quickly. We went twice during our short stay. the second time we had smaller pizzas to allow for dessert. We cannot comment on the other styles of food but for pizza this place is really good. Our only disappointment was the automatic addition of a service charge to the bill we would prefer to make the decision on this ourselves. We did not query this as we were happy to tip but hope that if we had queried it we would have been able to vary the amount.

Was hoping for a wonderful meal .we wanted to book somewhere really nice for our anniversary. And as we didn't really know the area, I googled a few places, and this had good reviews apart from one.so we went in without booking and greatly appreciate them finding us a table. It was a bit of a squeeze, but it was ok.we looked at the menu and really fancied the stuffed pork tender loin .we ordered, and we were so disappointed .they gave us normal knives, and we could not cut the pork .I asked for steak knives and still had trouble both cutting and chewing. It was awful. I nicely complained to the staff, who straight away offered us an alternative .but put off by the first offerings were reluct...

Disappointing went here on aThursday to catch up with some old friends . As it was very warm two of us ordered prawn salad and my friend had a small pizza. The sweet chilli prawn salads arrived in a small dish packet iceberg lettuce , chopped tomato and cucumber and 4 prawns! It was barely the size of a starter and for £12 was a joke. Anyway as I was clearly not served a main course I had a dessert of cheesecake , my friends profiteroles and ice cream. £8 and £5 respectively . My cheesecake appeared to be some kind of stodgy bought in gateaux but the others looked ok however for £8 would expect real cream not squirty we are not in 1980. Anyway £76 for 3 including service . Paid the service a...

The George Inn

The George Inn

Brompton Regis, TA22 9NL, West Somerset, United Kingdom

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
