"Outstanding, this extremely warm friendly inn is family friendly on all accounts. The accommodation is perfect, clean and cosy. Situated in a beautiful village location packed with history with beautiful tutor buildings, dated 14th to the 16th century. The staff owners at The Fox made our 13 year olds birthday breakfast one to remember, with nothing being too much for them. To the evening meal and cook breakfast delicious. Dog friendly, children friendly and brilliant for us adults too. A great bass to visit Blists Hill Victorian town, and Shrewsbury prison, both being Dog friendly and a perfect Family day out."

"We came here on a Sunday evening for dinner. The food was ok, nothing special but not bad either. The gentleman behind the bar and the waitress who served us were very pleasant, and the chef took the time to ask us if everything was ok with our meal, which is always nice. Altogether, a nice experience.However, after we had paid, my friend politely enquired about the original of one of the other waitress 's accents. The exchange went as follows: My friend: Where 's your accent from? Waitress: Europe My friend: Oh, Eastern Europe? Waitress: Where I 'm from, it is considered rude to ask this question. Me: Oh, where we 're from it 's called the art of conversation. Waitress: You 've already paid, so you won 't be getting a discount, so there 's no need to try to be nice. Wow. Someone needs to either fire this waitress or at the very least give her some training in customer services. Rude and impolite, disrespectful and simply inappropriate. The other good staff looked totally baffled by her attitude, and probably slightly embarrassed. As a local, I often visit The Gaskell with friends, but this will be the last visit. We were considering having our weekly sports club evening drinks here, and even our club Christmas dinner. I have also recommended this place to many of my guests. Needless to say, none of these will be happening now. The attitude of this waitress has lost this place a lot of future income."

Talbot Inn

"The layout of this form actually misses the point as it only caters for eating at The Talbot Inn. We actually stayed at the Inn and had a delightful weekend. The room was very comfortable, had all the amenities which we needed, including an en suite and we enjoyed very good night sleeps. The hotel is perfectly situated for visiting the Shropshire Hills and would be perfect for walkers. Guests who were staying enjoyed breakfast in a separate room to the main part of the Inn and there was a great choice. We would definitely stay here again if visiting this part of Shropshire."

"We were welcomed by a 'We 're only serving coffee and cakes '. It was 3.30 in the afternoon Easter Saturday and that was fine, it was all we wanted but a more polite welcome would have been better! I asked, as an allergy sufferer what I could have but there was no option available to me, so I had just tea. As a cook in a cafe myself I bend over backwards to make sure I have options available for gluten, egg, dairy, nut, vegan etc dietary requirements. As an allergy sufferer I know how difficult it is to eat out and not feel left out and it 's not a pleasant experience! Another couple came in shortly before 4 and were rudely turned away. It really was a, it 's late in the day, I want to go home and want everyone to leave attitude by who I assume was the manager. The girl that served us was pleasant. Suffice to say, we wish we 'd gone somewhere else and on this occasion made a really bad choice."

"Visited Bilash Saturday just gone after it had been recommended. Came around the corner and saw the front of the Indian and I was shocked it looks like a road side cafe. Not very inviting at all. I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go in. Walked through the door and wow a dirty carpet that looked like a heard had trampled through it. Very tight tables. We were asked on numerous times had we booked which we had. We were sat down at a table and waited for someone to come over and give myself and my hubby a menu in the end we had to ask for a menu and drinks. And this seemed to be a typical thing for us through out the night. I do know that the kitchen we short staffed so they informed us. The food was enjoyable, apart from a very long wait. Once finished I thought I will order a coffee but again it seemed that, that had been forgotten. So in the end my hubby asked for the bill only to be asked what a cobra. Bill and cobra do not sound the same. We paid them the bill and we had to went say goodbye and thank you. We both felt that we were an inconvenience to the staff. The restaurant seem to be catering for take aways as people kept coming in and out past the tables to collect there orders. Which is not really what you want when you are trying to enjoy your meal. There should be a separate door or side for people to collect there food as it a very narrow restaurant. We will not be returning."
