The fries are always consistently fantastic at this place. The cod is also very good value. However, I'm not a fan of the kebabs or pies.

First class fish chip shop. Big menu. Well organised with lots of staff. Even at peak times you are served quickly. Generous portions at fair prices

I have visited this restaurant before and it has always been good. During this visit, the chips and sausage were good, but unfortunately the fish was very undercooked. I hope this was just a one-time occurrence.

This chippy used to be very good, not sure what has happened! Given the benefit of the doubt, 3 times in 3 weeks and consistently poor. The cod was grey not white and chunky, the batter was thick and undercooked, the batter was inedible,. Chips were well below average. Sorry you’ve had you’re chances will not be returning.

This is the best fish and chips we’ve ever had, and we’ve sampled a few. The fish is always fresh, never from frozen, and the chips are sweet and delicious. This man knows his stuff and takes pride in his product, and he’s delightfully good natured, both with his customers and his staff. We travel quite a distance to get here and it’s always worth it. Me and my husband came in for our regular fish tea. I was shocked how the owner was handling food with hands. Especially one minute getting fish and next sausage’s without gloves or washing. This is a great concern for cross contamination. And also vegetarians. Also. The way the owner shouted at one young male worker. And barged past him. This young lad when bright red as the place was pretty full at the time. No need what so ever to talk to him so vile. I will NOT be coming here again. Ps. If you young lad “Sam “ I think is reading this. I hope you are ok. And don’t let this put you off working. Not all bosses are this rude. Take care.

I have visited this restaurant three times now as I pass through town daily for work. Each time, I have ordered a saveloy and chips and each time, I have felt a bit unwell afterwards. I initially attributed it to a bug, but today, I witnessed the old man working the fryer using dirty tongs to handle food, without washing his hands. He handled both cooked and uncooked food with the same hands, completely disregarding food hygiene regulations. I was shocked to see such basic mistakes being made, and I left the restaurant and bought a meal deal from the Co-op instead. I felt sorry for the young server who was left to work alone while the man handled food improperly. It was a disgusting experien...

Absolutely disgusting. We stopped using as the food was awful. Decided to give it another try .... BAD mistake. We ordered a small fish for our disabled child as he does not like meat, this was actually a battered sausage, covered in a massive amount of batter. The peas were not even tepid, had to be heated up together with the kebab meat at home, only the chips were okay, our other child 's plain sausage was well below temperature. EHO need to be involved.
