"I think I must have put my previous recent review on an older page for this cafe as I can't see it here. Anyway I had ended that review saying I couldn't wait to go back that's exactly what I did today. Another fantastic...lunch! I just love it! We had the soup which today was tomato, beetroot paprika. Not being a fan of beetroot, I was a bit anxious that I wouldn't enjoy the soup but I absolutely LOVED it. We also enjoyed the delicious foccaccia bread. My mum and brother followed it with cake and cappuccino (both raved about their choices) while I enjoyed a lovely cup of tea. This is a wonderful place to come! Lovely family business."

Very Impressive patio heating!! Just what’s required on these autumnal days. Alfresco coffee and cake. Excellent.

Lovely find near Kirriemuir. We came here for lunch. Had delicious homemade soup and a sandwich. Staff very friendly. Next time we’ll come for brunch as all the food looked lovely. Ver carta

Happened to be in the area and the wee bear was recommended to us so we stopped by for brunch. Really laid back friendly atmosphere. Had a bagel with brie, almonds and maple syrup which was delicious! Would recommend.

If you are ever in the area you must visit this place . We had breakfast there this morning- my husband had the “All day breakfast ciabatta “ and I had the “Sir Douglas “ Beautifully presented and extremely fresh . No complaints whatsoever. Only...wish we lived nearer !

My mum and I had another fantastic lunch here on Saturday. My mum had the blueberry scone with bacon. Was it called a Strummie? She thoroughly enjoyed it! I always have the soup so although I'm not a fan of mushroom soup normally, I opted...for it and I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely delicious! It was great to sit outside and have the heating lamps on standby everything has been thought through so well to keep everyone safe. We just love this cafe! Ver carta

What a beautiful cafe in a magnificent setting. I seem to be hitting gold these days. Albeit you do have to sit outside. They have outside heating and substantial seating area (covered as well). Dog friendly. Well managed in the current conditions. You go up...to give your order. Sit down and when it is ready the staff let you know and leave it on a table which you pick up at. The food was freshly prepared and very reasonably priced. Good selection as well. I would like to congratulate your staff who were very professional and helpful. I would definitely recommend and will return soon. Thank you for a great experience.

This cafe is a jewel that sits a few miles outside of the town of Kirriemuir. It has become one of our favourite places to eat. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is delicious. It is a fixed seasonal menu but the food...is different from the normal cafe's in the area. The main courses are delicious and the home-baked cakes are so tasty especially the rich homemade carrot cake. This is indeed one of our favourites in fact it is nice to take some home with you One if the most dog friendly cafés we have visited with the dogs getting as big a welcome as the humans. Keep up the good work and look forward to our next visit

"Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly. We had no option to order more drinks throughout the meal. Our main course plates were not taken away after we finished and after waiting for a while we decided just to leave and get deserts at home. Some comments about the food. We were told when we first arrived that there were no steaks. That reduced our options considerably. However, what surprised us was one of the diners at the other table was served a steak! We were told that they do not have tomato sauce. This is highly unusual for a restaurant that serves steak, burgers and chicken tenders with chips. One of our party member nipped down the road to a local shop and bought a bottle ketchup for the table. The food was okay but we felt it was very one dimensional. A lot of the dishes were served in a similar manner with the same dressings and toppings. The chips were a little greasy. I would have wished that our experience was better but unfortunately it wasn't so. I understand how difficult it must be for the restaurant trade just now and we try and support local businesses. However, we would still expecting decent service and food. I tried to message the restaurant in the first instance for a response but have not received any reply."
