West One - Carta

Last night we visited west one to try the restaurant upstairs firstly staff very attentive and friendly, secondly wow ! The food was absolutely fantastic flavoursome and cooked to perfection we shall definitely be coming back again Hats off to the chef and all the Staff 5

Hired the room upstairs for a birthday party. We had around 30 people. Claire was fantastic helping us sort out food and wine. Fantastic value, food, wine and service. Claire will sort pretty much any food you want. A nice intimate venue. We had a memorable evening.A hidden gem

Last Friday I went to west one for a drink at the bar, had an average experience but overhead someone who looked like they were encharge slagging off their employees. Completely ruined my experience and I honestly felt sorry for the people they were talking about, this place needs a severe change of management. Ver carta

Prefer to forget this experience! The one meal that did arrive was inedible. The other ordered meal had clearly been forgotten, even after I enquired into its whereabouts. Staff didn’t seem too bothered by this. We had gone in before the TV was put on full blast...wouldn’t have entered had we known it would be put on such high volume. Couldn’t find anywhere to sit that was quiet enough for us to converse.

Big sign up outside the bar all week advertising a band and BBQ to be held from 4pm Sunday 14th July. Brought the whole family down for the entertainment and food and guess what! NO BBQ because there was a private party out back! What the hell do you advertise a bbq for if you've already booked the venue for a party! Absolutely fuming! We were all really looking forward to the bbq. On the plus side, the band were good!

Would just like to thank West One! We held my daughters 3rd birthday there and the service, people and venue were absolutely amazing!! They were so helpful, friendly and accommodating! Put our minds at ease when organising a very chaotic child’s party and were extremely patient whilst helping set up too! Compliments to the Chef Sarah who made the delicious buffet and was so helpful and lovely! Thank you again guys! We had a great time! Ver carta

My friends and I decided to try out this restaurant after hearing that they served Chinese, Malaysian, and Japanese cuisine. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the lack of atmosphere. Our dining experience was ruined by three unruly children running around and screaming. When we inquired about sharing starters, the chef agreed, but we were charged extra for an additional prawn. The service was lacking, as the waitress seemed confused when we asked for wet wipes or a bowl of water. The sweet and sour prawns and Malaysian curry were decent, but the Chinese curry was terrible and tasted like it was from a packet. The prices were high, with a medium glass of wine costing £7.50. My husband and I went for lunch this weekend. It's a local restaurant for us, but we hadn't been in a couple of years due to a previous bad experience with noisy children. We decided to give it another chance. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked atmosphere and character. The booth-style chairs were old and torn. There was a loud children's birthday party happening in the front of the restaurant (not the venue's fault). I've not been to West one for many years but heard that it had changed quite a bit and has recently this year opened a new Chinese restaurant upstairs. So myself and a group of friends thought we would give it a try. And I have to say we are all happy that we did. The food was was just amazing, the right amount for each portion and came out at the perfect times. We didn't feel rushed in anyway and was looked after by our friendly waitress that was very intentive and professional through out. The ambiance was lovely and the decor looks great too.
