"We have been going to Whitley Bay Tandoori for 20 years (husband for 30 years he inrtoduced me to it), and it 's about time we let everyone into a secret it is the best indian restaurant in Whitley Bay. It may not have shimmering chandeliers and shiny chrome, it may not look much comapred to the newer, flashier indian restaurants that have sprung up. But this place knows how to cook, the food is always excellent. The staff have all been there for years (says it all), they are friendly, welcoming, nothing is too much bother. They will adapt dishes to your liking (I asked for no cream in a Passanda last night, no problem and was delicious), they are knowledgeable and caring. And as for the prices, unbelievable. Less than £40 for a 2 course meal for two, including beer, wine and coffee. We love this place, and even when we think oh let 's go somewhere different , we can 't bring ourselves to do that. The others are either much more expensive or we don 't trust that the food will be as good. So, there we have it, the secret 's out!"

I’ve been coming here for over 20 years now and the food is consistently outstanding. The staff are also fantastic. This is by far the best Indian restaurant in whitley bay.

expected slightly smaller portions as this was a Thursday Night Special offer, but we were mistaken!! the portions were huge and delicious great value for the money, and the service was spot on. Definitely will be visiting again soon.

The best curry I’ve ever had, the vegan options are absolutely amazing also the staff are extremely friendly and present. Very happy with order and highly recommend. The place also has a nice indoor dining area, Beautifully decorated.

We were seated as soon as we arrived and menus were given to us. We ordered drinks and decided to have the set meal for two. It started with popadums and chutneys, then two starters which we shared. Then the main meal with two main curry dishes a rice dish and a naan bread and another side dish. The whole meal was tasty and delicious. The surroundings were tasteful with paintings and the lights were interesting. We had a lovely evening.
