"The coffee shop at Workbridge is part of the wider St Andrew’s Healthcare, in Northampton. It is well located on the outskirts of Northampton, adjacent to the Bedford Road roundabout. Accessibility and parking are straightforward. There are other complementary services on site, all part of St Andrew’s impressive approach to community reintegration...vocational training, experiential learning, work and enterprise solutions. Ultimately however, these, like the coffee shop itself, have to compete with other (for profit) providers of similar services....farm shops, garden centres etc. In this respect, we think Westbridge does rather well. We go there, frequently, not because of its ‘not for profit’, charitable ideology (although that is true), but because it provides a jolly good service, good value and, most important of all, because we like it and we enjoy ourselves there.Well done and thank you."

We enjoyed a panini and then tea and cake. To me it's a feel good cafe. It's good simple food and nice and roomy with volunteer staff willing to serve you.

Becoming more popular so parking can be a problem. Food is good quality especially the cakes. Presentation of food can vary but is always good. Value speaks for itself as indicated by numbers dining.

The members of staff are so nice and the cakes are the best I've ever tasted and such big slices! There is also a small garden centre and health food shop and charity shop on site. Definitely worth a visit. Great value! Ver carta

We went back to Workbridge on a lovely sunny day, primarily for the garden center. The parking lot was, as always, a nightmare, so it was nice to be able to unwind with tea and cakes! The cafe is a lively, welcoming place and it was a wonderful indulgence to be served so attentively.

This restaurant offers an excellent afternoon tea experience! They serve delicious homemade food at a very reasonable price, with friendly staff. I wanted to take a picture, but the food was so good that it was quickly devoured. Thankfully, there was plenty to go around. I highly recommend choosing this over other afternoon tea options. Everything is freshly made and absolutely delicious! Ver carta

During our visit to the complex to shop at the Daily Bread Shop, which offers a wide variety of organic health foods, we decided to stop by this coffee shop. The coffee and bacon sandwich were delicious and reasonably priced. Additionally, we found many craft items for sale that are made on-site by special needs individuals, as well as a charming Charity Shop and Garden Centre on the premises.

We haven’t been here for a while and remembered it used to be a good place for lunch. It has changed since our last visit, become larger and an outside area added, all looking good. I can only imagine how much money has been spent on creating this cafe. Unfortunately the same thing can’t be said for the food. It’s fine if you just want a sandwich, cake or drink. Where is the hot food , salads etc ?, the only thing we saw was soup and a sausage in a roll. There are no menus, you have to peer at a chalk board on the wall. Whilst we stood there at two other couples came in looked at the blackboard , mumbled and walked out again as did we.Shame, such potential, hope it changes.

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
