This a very nice restaurant in a lovely old building. Went on a Saturday night and it was very busy and loud. The food is good, the service excellent and attentive and the atmosphere is great. Worth the visit. Ver carta

Arrived to test the Guinness was not the best thanks to a rude bar man to busy eating while he was serving he looked like he didn’t want to be there slamming glasses on the counter and not timing the Guinness just walking away to be honest for such a well known establishment I suprised at such a bad mannered staff member

Had a lovely lunch at the Anglers Rest. The meals were tasty with large servings. Service friendly and efficient. Prices comparable with other establishments in the area. Atmosphere good and excellent traditional décor. Lots of free parking across the road next to the Liffey. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Well worth a visit. Ver carta

Very disappointing meal. Firstly the restaurant was cold and we heard other diners complaining also. We asked to be moved to a warmer area which was a little warmer. When my food arrived, my burger arrived cold on a cold plate. Had to be sent back... this part was handled very well by Oliver. Overall, the service was very slow and disappointing. Definitely we won't be back in a hurry.

Visited about 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. Didn’t start too well, took at least 10 minutes to get our first drink order of two drinks. They seemed short staffed, but service improved significantly. My fish pie was delicious, as was my husband’s chicken wings, onion rings and chips. Cheese cake really good. Best expresso martini I’ve had in months. Really, really good. Ambience traditional, turf fire blazing by the time we left, the smell was lovely, candles lighting. Really nice atmosphere. Car park across the road. Well worth a visit. Overall great food, reasonably priced.

We went here in July and we got a lovely sunny evening. We had some wine outside first as we’d arrived early. Lovely atmosphere having a drink in the sunshine and just chilling out. We had our meal inside. Lovely restaurant and a nice menu. I had the mussels to start and they were delicious. For the mains I had the steak. It was ok but I’ve had a lot better elsewhere for less. The steak came with just chips and a battered onion ring. It just felt like a fast food meal. It was ok but I would’ve liked a choice of mash or veg instead of just chips. There was a wedding going on upstairs, it didn’t bother me but for some people it might be too noisy. You could head the band and a DJ later on so i... Ver carta
