This is what a country pub should be. Friendly staff, excellent food and good surroundings. Well worth a detour if anywhere nearby.

It's a mystery why this pub hasn't been awarded two Michelin stars. The exceptional food is is only surpassed by the professionalism displayed by the friendly staff.

This place. I was nervous when i went in. But we were welcomed very friendly. Perfect host. And what a Cook. The dinner was fabuleus! Thank you for the nice meal and drinks. Recommend it! Ver carta

Really lovely pub had heard about this from family a year ago and had to try. Portions are huge which I love and the food was delicious. Staff were incredibly friendly and hoping to go back again next year!

The food at this restaurant is excellent. I recently had the fish and chips with mushy peas and it was the best I've had in a long time. The batter was perfectly crisp and the chips were fantastic. I highly recommend this dish.

Its been several months since we came to you (only because there is 7 of us and in various locations not local) but Thank you Chef !!! Standards have not slipped. despite all our different choices everything was delivered at the same time and the homemade food is to die for! We selected this for a mid-way stop on the way back from a holiday in Devon. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Mary. My husband said the beer was great and had seconds! I have a problem with eating rich and creamy foods, so asked for a plain chicken portion with salad and this was accommodated without a problem even though it's not on the menu. My husband enjoyed his home-made lasagne very much.

If you are looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a warm atmosphere, this is the perfect place for you. Chef Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and only uses fresh ingredients - no pre-packaged items here. Mary and Hayley are friendly and attentive. I recently enjoyed a roast dinner and it was absolutely delicious, as always. And the homemade Eton Mess Cheesecake by Paul was heavenly. We dine here regularly throughout the week and the food is consistently fantastic. Treat your taste buds to a meal here soon - you won't be disappointed!

Booked a table for an anniversary meal with friends. What a pleasure to find a friendly, family pub with a superb chef, excellent choice of meals and drinks, and at friendly prices!! A good bottle of Malbec? £15.50..amazing!! The scallops for starters were superb...high class restaurant standard...and Sunday roasts generous delicious! We couldn't really squeeze in a pudding, but there was an Afogato on the menu and we found ourselves pouring hot coffee over vanilla ice-cream and sharing between couples. There was no blaring music, just good old-fashioned cheerful service. We'll be back.... Ver carta
