"The food here is amazing and the service is excellent. We booked the night before and were given a very comfortable seat in the window. As there were five of us eating we ordered many of the Tapas dishes on the menu and enjoyed all of them. The croquettes (on special) were particularly good and we also liked the lamb filo parcels. They were very busy and fully booked but the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed. We also enjoyed a selection of delicious cheesecakes for dessert. (we all had a different one: passion fruit, almond, malteser and biscotti). We would definitely come back here next time we are passing through."

"My expectations of this establishment have been dashed this evening.Mediocre steak. Poor service.When my meal arrived i was told my side order wasn 't available and I was asked if i would like something else instead but declined as my meal would probably be eaten by the time i received it.Payment was cash only and I was actually asked 'would i like my change? When presenting £40 for a £33 bill. How rude!!!! I always leave a gratuity wherever I go and even after all my comments tonight was no exception.Update following owners response:I think the best course of action would have been to let me know as soon as you ran out of spinach so that I could have made a second choice prior to my meal being served. So NO I didn 't 'expect you to pull it out of your arse ' as you so rudely suggested.As for the member of staff. There were two young girls waiting on tables who looked very similar so couldn 't tell you which.I suggest instead of wasting your energy verbally abusing anyone who dares to give a valid review. "Visited due to the positive reviews on trip advisor but have to say was disappointed. For the price I would have expected more. The food was ok but not great with Pizzas severely lacking in toppings. After spending £16 on one of the most expensive Pizzas on the menu I would have expected more. It contained slivers of red onion paper thin amounting to a fraction of a complete onion and no more than half a dozen slices of chilli. These are the cheapest ingredients yet I felt the volumes on the Pizza were borderline stingy. We had 2 starters, 3 pizzas, 1 salad, 2 desserts plus 2 soft drinks and a glass of wine and the bill without service was over £92. Some people might say £30 per head is a fair price to pay for a meal out and I wouldn’t disagree but for me it just wasn’t good value. The £8 salad was particularly disappointing with just a couple of pieces of beetroot and hardly any sweetcorn. The restaurant itself was in a great location and made the most of the views across the valley and stylishly decorated. Service was patchy with most of the waiting staff being young and at times seemed more interested in chatting with each other than serving the customers. At one stage one of the staff came to clear our table leaving half of it before moving onto another table. I’m sure plenty of people will enjoy eating here and it appears to be very popular. I am acutely aware of the cost pressures on the hospitality sector but we enjoyed several meals out during our stay in the area and this was without doubt the poorest value for what we got for our money."

"On behalf of my family, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cross Foxes Inn. Two weeks ago, our car broke down just 10 minutes from the Inn, and we found ourselves stranded while waiting for the RAC. At 9 PM, we called the hotel to inquire about room availability and a taxi to get us there. To our relief, they had a room ready, and they even drove out to pick up my wife and our 5-year-old, while I stayed with the car until the mechanic arrived. They came to our rescue at 9:30 PM, and we were incredibly grateful. Not only did they provide us with a safe place to stay for the night, but the Inn itself was a wonderful experience. Our room was beautifully furnished with charming wooden beams while still feeling modern and comfortable. The staff were exceptional, and the Welsh breakfast we had the next morning was incredible. When we arranged for a rental car the following day, the staff kindly allowed us to stay longer in our room. We truly appreciate their support and kindness. You are all remarkable people, and we’ll make sure to stop by for a meal and a chat whenever we’re in the area. Thank you once again for your generosity and support that night; we honestly don’t know what we would have done without you! You are all amazing!"

"The BEST breakfast I have ever had. The bacon slices were like gamnon steaks. Thick and tasty. A large brekkie is around £9 under the average price compared to Barmouth. Great find and with a great history being based in a building that dates 1606."
