"We ordered Seafood ramen, salmon sashimi, chicken katsu curry, and kaiso seaweed salad. Generally, the experience was positive as the food was served warm, where expected, and served nicely. I would rate chicken katsu higher than my mark given in this review as the dense...sauce in which the chicken was dipped turned out to be remarkable. Salmon sashimi good and tender. Nevertheless, ramen was very disappointing. Although it was warm and looked nice at first, the taste was quite average as the broth was very watery. On top of that, seafood had no seasoning and majority of vegetables were raw, including pickled onions that were very sour and didn't go together with the rest, imho. The pasta didn't taste as if it was homemade' and tasted very ordinarily. The kaiso seaweed salad was moist and flavorful definitely worth to try for newcomers. The staff was friendly and the local was very clean. The additional feature of collecting food by yourself makes the experience even more enjoyable. Great for couples and small gatherings. To sum up, dishes didn't exactly resemble Japanese-style dishes, yet some of them are tasty."

Dining at yo! is consistently fantastic! It's conveniently located and ideal for a quick and simple lunch. The miso soup is a great value as they offer unlimited refills, and the teriyaki chicken with rice was delicious!

Took my mum out for her birthday as she’s never been to Yo Sushi before and the view of Princes street is great. The food was so yummy and fresh, it was so busy as well but it came out promptly and the front of...house waitress (I think her name was Hannah) was so hospitable and friendly! really enjoyable atmosphere, will be back again!

Massively reduced menu, unable to pick and choose as things came along the conveyor which is was the selling point for me. Food took around 20 minutes to arrive and it wasn't busy. The self-serve water taps with refill are gone. All of my favourite...dishes are now gone. Very disappointed with this experience. When I told the servers I hadn't been in a couple of years, they didn't let me know the menu was completely chopped or I wouldn't have even sat down.

I cannot emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my experience at Yo Sushi. The food was fantastic and the desserts were delightful. The tables are positioned by the window, offering a lovely view of the gardens. Each table has a QR code for ordering via mobile phone. The dishes come around on a conveyor belt, making it a fun and satisfying dining experience. All drinks are promptly served. For a recommendation, I suggest trying the teriyaki chicken, as it is delicious. The desserts, particularly the pancakes, are also a must-try. I would suggest visiting for a light meal or a leisurely lunch when you have some time to spare.

The Princes Street restaurant has dramatically gone down hill and is a far cry from the original concept. I have loved yo sushi all over the world since it first started and have always been a fan but will be rethinking this now. Service was...not very friendly or very good, the premises generally look quite grotty and not well maintained, there's a leak in the ceiling at the top of the stairs and staff are using kitchen containers to catch the waste water instead of pales. Also, be careful when leaving as the balustrade on the stair is very loose and could do someone an injury. That being said, food was OK. No wasabi or pickled ginger unless you order it now.

I must say I was hugely underwhelmed by our food today. Delivered today and of course as one would expect the hot components needed heated after being on the road, these being chips and Katsu. But either way the meal was just over £30 and...the quantity was spartan to say the let. I assumed the Katsu would be along the lines of Yo Sushis Katsu which is a plate with a couple of reasonable looking pieces of Katsu veg and sauce, this was miniscule pumpkin Katsu and the salad very impoverished. The fries were in a box and again compared to the generous photo were disappointing. To cut a long story short all proportions including the vegan platter did not in any way represent good value. I am hug...

We visited Yo Sushi on Princess Street for a quick family dinner. We have been regular customers at Yo Sushi locations in both Edinburgh and Newcastle. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the dirty and uninviting entrance. Once inside, we were greeted by friendly staff who seated us promptly. However, we couldn't help but notice the tired and run-down appearance of the restaurant, with holes in the flooring and many lights not working. The menu was limited, which was disappointing, and we were surprised by the small portion sizes of the premium items despite the increased prices. The atmosphere was lacking, with no music and a lack of energy from the staff. Overall, our experience was not...

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
