"Yo Sushi has definitely gone downhill from before. They removed a lot of the interesting features that made Yo Sushi stand out from the rest. The autonomy of the conveyor belt and the water tap at every table has now all gone. You must order via the QR code and pay before receiving it. In addition, the food was horrible. The ramen bowl cost £12.50 and there was not even a handful of noodles in there. The broth was overpowered by pieces of chilli with no real flavour. Some random things were just thrown in like pickled onion and seaweed which made the overall taste just really strange and unappetising. The sushi was less than substandard. The rice did not seem real and did not even look like rice. It was cold and mushy and the rice grains seemed to be blended all in one. It appeared that the sushi had been prepared 2 or 3 days ago. The next thing I noticed was the thinness of California rolls. It looked like the chef had taken 2 normal size rolls and chopped them in half to make four. Overall it was a very bad eating-out experience and confirmed my decision never eating at Yo Sushi again."

Was busy, however no need to wait for a seat. Ordering is quick and easy by the QR code. Food and drink started arriving within a few minutes. Staff were nice and food excellent.

I had a wonderful lunch at the YO! Sushi Kingston location yesterday. The food arrived quickly, and everything was delicious. It was a bit busy, but the staff worked hard to ensure that every customer enjoyed their meal.

Awful experience at this restaurant. The fish they served was not fresh, and the chefs seemed inexperienced. My sashimi appeared to have been poorly cut, and the nigiri had far too much rice and not enough fish. This is definitely not authentic Japanese cuisine! I would recommend steering clear of this place!

First time in Yo....I was quite excited...I shouldn't have been. Food was average. Service? Its Yo Sushi....the conveyor belt was nice but no conversation...so very little service. Atmosphere of a sterile operating theatre. Nothing really awful but nothing to draw me back....Kingston has better to offer. I won't be going back of my own choice.

Used to be great food has now gone downhill. Quality is substandard, as you pay upfront (including a service fee! it is very difficult to complain. Some of our food was incomplete (sauce for pancakes missing some wrong. The poke bowl was so spicy it was inedible. Lots of old favourites are no longer available. The Yo sushi I used to love is gone.

Overall, the food I had was good, but nothing extraordinary. However, the pink mochi was fantastic. I heard that the Korean fried chicken is delicious—I haven't tried it myself, but it seems like it's definitely worth a taste. We did wait quite a while for the waiter to notice us and take our order, although it might have just been a busy time. Overall, it's a place worth visiting.

Took my daughter (3)for her first to visit with my partner. The food came pretty quickly (although he would disagree as other people's food going by was a tease apparently) The new system where you order on your phone then wait for your order isn't as good as the old one. Preferred it when you took what you liked the look of. It slows your visit and I think limits what you try. Hence a lost star. But. All in all the food was delish and we enjoyed our visit

Maybe its just not my cup of tea but this was really disappointing I guess the rolls/sushi are alright, the same stuff you expect from wasabi/itsu/etc, but the cooked food strongly suggest not to try : the ramen was beyond disappointing, the whole broth was oily and you can taste nothing but black pepper, the vegetable was raw, the noodle is not ramen, just egg noodle. Not to mention it was not hot enough. I think i prefer wagamama if we are talking about western style cooked japanese food. Stick with the rolls/maki if you go!

Dined here for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was relatively empty; only three other tables there when we arrived. We ordered approximately five hot dishes and drinks on the app, and took some sushi from the belt. After waiting over 20 minutes for the hot food, I asked a waiter how long it might be. We didn’t really want to eat the sushi and sashimi and not have the hot foods to go with it. A further 15 minutes passed still no hot food. I queried again and this time requested they be taken off the bill as a goodwill gesture due to the time elapsed. He tried to barter with me and only take off one, to which I said that wouldn’t be good enough, and he removed everything that hadn’t...

"Obon: a petit Japanese udon restaurant that supplies a sense of Japan that cannot be found anywhere else in the whole of the Uk. (5 stars) Location: Obon is located close to the heart of Kingston but the road it’s on is considerably quieter. You must make sure to have a basic knowledge of Kingston in order to find an area to park and to also make sure you leave yourself enough time, taking the unpredictability of the traffic into acount. Even on a week day there can be traffic jams which can put a halt to your plans and due to the small amount of customers Obon can take its important that you not only book but make sure that you arrive at the agreed booking time. With this being said the staff are all lovely so if you are running late, a quick call is all that is required to just give Obon a chance to understand your position. The food: The array of exquisitely prepared sashimi will be sure to create the sensation that you are in a top Japanese restaurant in japan and the flavour of the fish does not fail to match expectations, which will be very high after just one glance at your meal. The fish is delicately seasoned and practically melts on your tongue, this causes a lovely sensation and is genuinely the finest sushi I have tasted in the uk and even matches a lot of the top restaurants in japan. On top of just the traditional types of sushi, which to many is maki rolls Obon also offers many other delicious options such as soft shell crab and even Unagi don, which I must highly recommend due to it consistently being the highlight of my meal. For those of you that were interested in the quality of the basic Japanese dishes such as miso soup or edamame they do not fail to leave you in grand anticipation for what is to come for they are, simply speaking, incredibly good. The miso, in my opinion, is truly remarkable and creates a lasting feeling of warmth throughout your entire body, on top of that it is far superior to other miso’s that I have tasted in all other areas of the world. Overall the quality of the food is something you would expect from a world famous Michelin star restaurant and if you want Japanese food it’s the only place I can recommend. The Restaurant: The restaurant itself is small but authentic in nature and because it only has a enough tables to host around 20 people at the most, the service is exceptionally good and your food is always out quickly so you will not be left hungry for very long. The staff are kind and friendly. And it’s always an enjoyable experience being waves goodbye as you leave the restaurant. You’re also able to watch as they prepare the food, which for some could be entertaining. There are Japanese photos scattered around the room and this further creates an authentic feel. The atmosphere is not lively but it is a restaurant and not a bar so is an ideal location if you are wanting high quality food. With this being said it is still a great place to go with friends and I consistently am able to have a great time no matter the occasion. Price: Obviously, the price of the food is always an important topic to come to and despite the cost of the sushi being slightly higher than you may expect from a small restaurant in Kingston, I would have to say that for the quality of the food it is ultimately a bargain. For three people, you would be spending around £100 so it isn’t cheap but you can go for cheaper types of food such as udon, which is still amazing quality and won’t set you back as much money. Overall: Obon is still my favourite restaurant in the whole of the Uk and is perfect for a special occasion but it isn’t the sort of place you’d go for a casual night out. The food is beyond incredible and thus they can cater for both children and adults by meeting every bodies needs. For anybody that enjoys sushi, I would urge you to give it a go, you won’t regret it"
